I'll keep you posted. I just purchased the Q5 20k head and a slider for my short bed Crew cab 99.5 F350. It's being installed in a couple days and we should be out on out 1'st trip within 2-3 weeks. I am new to 5'th wheels but we have been RVing for many years. 1'st a tent trailer then a 25Ft TT with 2 slides. Now a Mountineer 342pht. P.S. I can take pictures of it as well as mabyee a video clip and post it on youtube for all to view

Got it and am very happy with it, side to side swival is twice as much as my old one. It is solid, easy to take out if you need too. Recomend a little help lifting out though pretty heavy, but then it is a 20k hitch.

For the price I feel it is a very good value not to mention it looks very good to boot!

Bought mine on E-Bay shipped to my location (3 boxes-Fed Ex) with the Dodge adaptor mounts for around 650.00.

Here it is ! Links to my Curt Q5 20K hitch and slider. 3 U-tube video's included as well. I think for my 1'st 5er that I made a good choice for the value/ride quality and price. and it looks good to, better than say the reese. is easy to take apart. Has easy to read indicators to let you know what stage of coupling you are in and when you are firmly locked. I am new at this but think it's a good product. The guy I had install it worked for Boeing for 20+ years doing R&D machining and said the slider rail system is top of the line in his opinion.

u tube viedos in 3 parts so you can take a look at it

I SAW ON A BULLITAN THAT SOME OF THE NEW 5'THAIRBORNE "SIDEWINDER SERIES" THE ONE THAT ROTATES AT THE PIN BOX INSTEAD OF USING A SLIDER WILL NOT WORK ON THE 20K HEAD !!!!!!!!! IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING A CURT 20K HEAD AND ARE WANTING TO USE ONE OF THE "SIDEWINDER" STYLE PIN BOXES LOOK INTO IT A BIT TO SEE OF THE COMBO WILL WORK OR NOT ! I THINK ITS BECAUSE THE 20K HEAD HAS SO MUCH ROTATION MOVEMENT?

We received our Curt 16K slider on Monday and finished installing it Tuesday evening. Took the rig for a test drive and had too many chunks, clunks and movement for our taste.

I called Fox RV in Chippewa Falls WI (Montana dealer) and asked if a 1/2" travel on the king pin to hitch was normal. They said yes, but if more, to have it checked out. I called Curt Tech Service and Keith offered to look it over if we brought the rig to the factory. Since I am on vacation, (has anyone noticed that MN/WI has been VERY Wet and RAINY for the entire past week!) and we didn't have anything better to do, we drove the 90 miles to have them look it over.

Keith brought out Ben, (in the rain!)the product developer and they measured the king pin catch and said it was on the outside of the specification and they would replace the hitch head. They measured and brought out a head with a smaller tolerance, which will result in less travel of the pin, inside the head.

We also have a nasty "beer can" (DH drank from LARGE beer cans). That clunk turned out to be the hitch sliding in the tolerance where the hitch attaches to the rails. Ben said that the hitch was installed exactly as intended , and to reduce that nasty sound, we could loosen the rails and move them as far to one side as possible, which would reduce the tolerance, but also make it a bit harder to remove the hitch from the box, (due to less tolerance). We may do that, not sure yet.

I also asked if they had any plans to reduce the difficulty of tightening the bolt on the under bracket that is above the gas tank. Ben said we actually had a set of Draw Tite brackets (OOPS!)and that Curt used a "U" shape bolt that made it a bit easier to tighten that bolt. We had purchased the hitch and rails from etrailer.com and the site didn't list a brand for the rails. We thought we were getting Curt brand rails.

Bottom line is: Curt Tech Service and Product Development, Keith and Ben, were very nice and accommodating and we left as Happy Campers! They answered all of our questions, did I mention the rain??, and were very pleasant. They we also MUCH younger than us and could jump in and out of the truck box with ease!

The new truck,Chev 2500HD with Duramax/Allison, and the Monty handled great on its maiden 180 mi round trip. (We're sleeping at home, too much rain!)

Happy Hitching!

This is my first post, but I have a Curt 20K hitch for my 3400RL and we love it so far. We have about 3,000 miles on it and it is great. I would recommend it is great for the price. It also has three ways you can grease it.
