We are think about staying at Skidaway island state park. Anyone stay there? Or do you have recommendation for a good place to stay and sight see Sanvannah

We have stayed there a few different Thanksgivings in our previous SOB fifth wheel. It's pretty, with Spanish moss draping off live oak trees. Definitely a State Park (more rustic than the private campgrounds we stay in). But nice enough that we're thinking about returning.

They have wide, pretty nature trails through scrub, marsh, coast and pine forest areas. There's also an educational exhibit about the ecosystem of the area.

There's Wormsloe State Park nearby (day-use) that has an historic house and grounds. Looks fascinating, but we never seem to make it there. Savannah proper is a few miles away, over a bridge. Parking in Savannah can be difficult, but not impossible. Lots of touristy (expensive) restaurants & shops.

We have stayed there also. If you use one of their loop pull-through sites, look out for the way the trees lean into the driving path, We scrunched the front right section of the roof line about 4 foot and it really ruined our day. I think it was one of the sites in the back of the front loop. Also watch out for low hanging branches on some of the roads the lead to the park.

Other than that it is a beautiful park and we enjoyed it very much.
