Do you worry about someone stealing your $65 regulator?

Is there some way to secure it?...or do you just take the chance and rely on the honesty of RV people?

This question seems to come up about just about everything that is outside the rig. And in answer to your question, I really don't worry about it. If I was gonna worry about that kind of thing I would have stayed in the north woods, gated my drive and locked the doors. We have been on the road for three years now and haven't had anything stolen yet, outside or inside. Even if you welded the regulator to the hydrant some one could steal it if they really wanted it. Worry about the price of fuel, not about the what ifs... Dave

Dave,

Just wondering what other thought. I feel the same.

Heard that 50 amp umbilical cords are hot stuff! I might get lucky, someone might steal mine, and then I have an excuse to go buy one of those fancy 30 amp cords!

If they're going to steal my regulator they'll get my dual filter system with it since I have everything screwed together. My regulator is at the outlet of the filtering system.

I agree 200%. With over 5 years of full timing I have yet to have anything stolen in a RV Park.
I will admit that 3 years ago I did have a bicycle stolen but that was 3 teenagers and they did steal 3 bikes and were all caught within 3 hours. The teenagers were locals and lived a couple miles away. According to police they were on their way home and stole the bikes to get home. They were going to ditch them so their parents didn't see them. To this day I still don't lock my bikes.
If you are going to worry about copper and brass items than you better lock up the brass "Y" splitters, shutoffs, electric cables and even the TV cable.

Perhaps with the price of copper down, they will lay off the RV cords. I would think the wire would not bring much without being stripped of the insulation. I know when I was a kid my Dad serviced water wells. Every summer I would burn old electric motors he had collected and remove the windings for spending money.

We occasionally have something stolen in this park here. During spring break last spring, I had a cooler outside with adult beverages in it. Someone took a bag of boiled crabs out, removed several beverages, and put my crabs back in the cooler. We felt it was youngsters here on break. Once when I went to the pier, I saw someone had left their fishing rod and bait bucket; dang, that was my rod. Don't know whose bait bucket it was. Turned out to be a homeless individual trying to catch something to eat. I couldn't get too upset over either one of those situations. Heck, if they had knocked on the door and told me they were hungry, I would have provided them a meal. We all need help occasionally.
