Signal Light Issue
I have a new 3790 (well I got it in October) and my truck is telling me the right signal light is defective and it is blinking (in the truck) twice as fast. Normally that means the light is out. When I have had my wife check lights it has worked normally. This sounds like a loose connection somewhere??

Does it do that with the trailer disconnected? Or connected?

My first step would be to check ground, then wiring, then flasher itself

It only does it while connected to the trailer.

Could be the wrong flasher installed (though that seems very unlikely, but...... Or defective flasher.

Wouldn't a defective flasher cause the problem for both left and right systems whether the RV was connected or not? Or does the flasher have separate circuits for left and right? As this is a brand new truck it would seem the problem is elsewhere.
I would start at the trailer plug-in at the rear of the truck and check the connections for the right turn wire there, the 4x4 connection box on the pin, and at the taillight. Swap the left and right wires and see if the problem follows the wire or not. As the Montana is still new and under warranty, maybe the dealer can chase it for you.

Did the turn signals ever work correctly and only recently begin this problem?

Your Ford dealer should be able to run a test on your truck connection. Can at least rule out a truck issue. They were very helpful when I bought the new F450.

Hi
Flashers are load sensitive. The flasher used with a trailer tow package is commonly different that one used in say a passenger car. The difference being the ability of the flasher to handle more load. Put the flasher from a passenger car in a HD truck with a trailer attached it will flash at a fast rate and get to hot to handle.
Also a HD flasher that has been subject to an overload like a short to ground will exhibit the same symptoms as a standard flasher that is used with a trailer.
I just repaired this problem on a 1999 Dodge 3500. The problem was a short to ground in the trailer connector installed in the fender well.

Thanks for the input. Let me start with the flasher and also make sure the 7-ways are set up correctly.
