Calling everyone in the Southeast

If you're in the southeastern U.S. or plan to be there at the end of March, there is a thread under "MOC Regional Camping Clubs" that we invite you to check out. We're planning a weekend of camping in southern Georgia March 31 - April 2, 2006, and would love to have lots of MOCers show up. The campground, Twin Oaks RV Park, is already taking reservations. Check out the thread if you think you might be interested. It's a lot of fun meeting other owners and there's always something new to learn about your Montana.

The dogwoods and azaleas are blooming. Georgia is beautiful in the spring. It's next week! Y'all come!

Hey guys! What part of the state of Georgia is this camp ground located? We live in Huntsville and might make the trip if we plan this ahead.

We'd love to have you join us. The campground is about 1/3 of the way up from the Florida border, on I-75. Elko is 120 miles south of Atlanta. They're offering pullthroughs and reservations with no deposit for the first people to sign up. The Georgia Samboree is in Perry (15 miles north) the same week which would provide great RV activities for the first part of the week. Should be a worthwhile trip.

I would love to join you but we have a 9 year old and she got school that week and its about 8 hours from us. Too long a drive for a short week end. Any other plans for the summer 2006? We cam take few days off or week off to meet up. Let me know.

ejc1214, the Great Lakes Regional Rally is the end of August in Springfield, Ohio. That would be a nice week long vacation for you. Sorry you can't make it to our gathering in Georgia at the end of March.

Judy,
just checked the dates for the Great Lakes rally and that too is not going to work. My 9 years old girl is going back to school on the 25th and prior to that on the 23rd we have orientation at school. I guess most Montana owners don't have kids eh? LOL Can we do some in July or early August?? Maybe 2007? or this side of Atlanta next time for the Southeastern rally? Just a thought. ED

Ed, first of all let me clarify something. Our get together in Elko, Georgia is not an official rally. It is just a gathering of Montana owners and we did just what you're proposing for your weekend in NC. I proposed a date and a campground and encouraged people to sign up. We're having a potluck that someone has volunteered to organize. We will probably have a Meet and Greet so everyone can meet and greet, maybe an afternoon or evening of various games, and otherwise we'll just enjoy visiting with other owners.

Most people with Montanas may not have children, but those that do, are very much welcome. South Georgia is beautiful at the end of March/first of April and that was my first consideration when picking a date. We also hope that a few people moving north out of Florida will stop by. Good luck on your arrangements and have fun! It's great meeting MOCers.

Oh ok Judy. Thought it was an official rally. But I would have love to come and camp anyway. Just came back from my shakedown trip and loved the Monty. Can't wait to use it next week end.

And it will only get more addictive! It's a great lifestyle whether it's fulltime or for a weekend. Glad you had a good weekend.

We will be there and may be arriving early. All depends on the CG in Florida.
What is the thread called for this outing?

Tom and Rose, I pulled info out of the archives and started a couple of new threads with info on our mini-rally, including a link to the campground. I guess we've been in hibernation too long! We're glad that you can join us. Everyone is WELCOME!

I just wanted to issue a new invitation to everyone in the Southeast to join us at our get-together in Elko, Georgia. It's next month! It's a great time to meet one another and share ideas about our Montanas and the roads we've traveled. Details can be found under Camping Clubs - Southeast Region. The campground, Twin Oaks, in Elko, Georgia has been the site of many rallies and is close to several area attractions. The spring flowers should also be in bloom. Hope to see you there.

March 31 - April 2, 2006 Twin Oaks RV Park. Make your reservation today! See y'all there!

Guys would love to make this trip but I just had total knee replacement surgery. I can"t drive at point and the wife is not ready to make the trip at the wheel. We had this on the calendar since last year and was planning to come, but my knee was just getting too bad. Hope to see you all soon.

So sorry you won't be able to attend but I know you'll be a lot better off with a new knee. I've heard lots of good reports after that surgery. Glen's got to fit it into his itinerary sometime in the future. Best of luck with your recovery.
