Tank Heaters
At what temperature do you turn your tank heaters on? Also, if hooked up at a site and you are leaving for a few days, do you leave them on if temps are in the 20’s at night?

I turn them on if in the twenties. Not so much for freezing but just to keep some heat going wherever I can. If leaving a few days I would drain the tanks and leave the heaters off.

I turn them on at about 35 degrees and yes I leave them on when away. Be SURE there is some water in them!

We're pretty much the same. Turn on when near freezing is expected and only if the tanks are closed and have water in them.

My understanding is you can turn them on and from there they are automatic..
Built-in thermostat automatically operates the heater pad
Turns on when the tank or step temperature reaches 45 degrees F
Turns off when the tank or step temperature reaches 67 degrees F

^^^ Agree ^^^.
They are thermostatically controlled. Also, they won't hurt anything if the tank is empty, but you will waste electricity. It's just a heating pad. It doesn't get hot enough to damage the tank, with or without water.

I agree that there is no problem leaving them on other than power usage if off the cord. Here is a pic of one. I'm pretty sure I got it from somebody on the forum.
