Gunsmith?

Well, I guess I can add Gunsmith to my list of trades: Machinist, Millwright, Pipefitter, controls Electrician, Welder, mechanical designer,RV repairman, Plumbing: Ugh, don't like that.
I just made a sight installer and installed my night sights on my Glock. The commercial sight vise was $400.00
In a no or low light condition, the sights are very bright.

Well-I like your idea of welding two C clamps together. Maybe putting a hinge on them would work too!

Aren't C clamps wonderful! I've cut em, welded em, and made all kinds of stuff with them. I installed a few Mighty Mule gate operators. Never would have gotten the brackets welded to the steel posts by myself without modified C clamps.

OZZ, you reminded me. I've got an old 22 rifle in a garbage bag under the bed. I disassembled it to clean 3 years ago. Guess I might need to dig it out and see if all the parts are still there. It was my Dad's rifle, and had never been taken apart and cleaned.

Gee Ozz, I thought they had to shoot glocks sideways, so why did ya put the sights on top, wouldn't they work better on the side??

Will, I have a .22 my pop gave me, has a telescope sight on it, and a little clip that holds a few rounds.
Yea, the sideways deal kills me, being 'cool', and shooting a gun just doesn't seem right. Idiots...

Great job Ozz. I gave up trying to do night sights when I ruined a Sig P226 slide by cracking the left front portion of the slide and I was using a sight pusher and never should have engaged the vise for support. That little adventure cost be a total of $350.00 for a new slide from Sig with NS. Now I just let a friend of mine who runs a local gun shop put them on for me. That is a great looking sight pusher!

I was a machinist in the Navy, made parts for Submarines. We had a shop by the docks, I would test the steel with acid and flies, pull it off the stock rack and mill, lathe, grind parts. My background helps me in my repairs and rigging of things, but I tear things up as well. The old saying about the process of making sausage being ugly, but the end result tasty...
Thanks.

Unlike shipyards for surface ships. Measure with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with a hatchet... Fine work...

Thanks Don, I appreciate it.
I just got to missing all the friends here on MOC, and thought I had better get with the program!
I actually have been really busy with the new business, networking group (BNI) and two Chamber of Commerce groups.
I will enjoy my next retirement. You have quite a list of Mod's to your TV, we love our trucks, don't we?

Ozz, what Dave forgot to mention about the ax is that while he is driving, his assistant leans out the vehicle and hones the ax on the asphault. The faster he drives the sharper the hone. How's that for precision?

With Dave's mastry of the Bovine used hay and water mix, I am surprised he left that out...
But I likes it!

Didn't have one, or I would have.
Speaking of Lasers, I have a guide rod Laser sight on my Glock 17, just replaced the 8 year old batteries....
