New Ford truck owners
Other truck owners are more than welcome as well...
I have asked before, but can't find the information, so here I go again:
I will buy an extended warranty on my Ford truck, so that is settled, From Ford. Who got the best, or a fair buy on their ESP, as Ford calls it. I have around 5 month's to get it, but would like to get it sooner rather than later. I am pleased with the few problems I have had, but everything is so expensive now, we just decided to get it. I am pretty sure I will get the 7 year 100,000 bumper to bumper policy, this is my last truck.
Thanks!

Frank, Sue (my DW) made me promise no more new trucks.... Mine is super OK with me.
I did research on the Internet, for a $100.00 deduct on the best plan, it is $2290 with one company and $2170 with another.

Lets see No new trucks................Hummmmmmm
So does this mean that you can buy a truck that is a year old Jim? or is that any truck that is not part of your collection is a NO.

Jim: I made a number of searches on the Internet for Ford dealers who sell the Ford extended warranties (7 years/100K miles/$100 deductible), as opposed to other companies. I found a couple who had pretty good prices. One was in New Jersey (or maybe Connecticut??). They offered a price of just under $1,800. I took that offer to my local dealer, where I bought and maintain the truck, and they matched it.
There is a profit built into the price, so the dealer does have some wiggle room.

I bought a 7 year/100K mile PremiumCare with $100 deductible and first-day rental car for around $2100. What's nice about the package is that if the F-250 has to go in for any warranty work even though I am still in the original (under 36K) warranty, I now get a rental car. It allows me to still get to work, or do anything else I might need to do, while the dealer works on it.

Thanks, I will keep looking and get that low price, then do as you did and go to my dealer. He gave me a price of $2600 a month or so ago.

You bet! We like to think we improve by paying attention to life's mistakes. (That we make.)

I bought the 7 yeat 200,000 mile Dieselcare Plus engine warranty. I have more concern about an engine issue and less about what could happen to the rest of the truck and the strange thing the warranty covers. Make sure you see what the covered items are. It is not a true bumper to bumper warranty. I bought the ESP coverage and the few issues I had under 100,000 miles weren't covered.

Ozz, just make sure it is a warranty from Ford and not the dealer offering you a extended warranty that is not truly a factory warranty. I purchased one on my wife's SUV and it was sold to me as a extended factory warranty then 3 years later I got a letter stating the company covering my extended warranty had gone out of business. The dealer I purchased from has also closed there doors. Therefore buyer beware.

Good point Dennis, I will read the fine print. Sorry that happened to you and Linda.
I have a business networking partner that is with a large local Ford dealership, I will get a good Internet price, then have a friendly 'bidding war' between him and the dealership I bought the last two trucks from.
I agree with our members that it must be 'found money' if a customer comes in asking about the warranty.

Kinda wish I had Payed attention to my salesman when he said I didn't need it. I bought one anyway, and now the time and miles are used up and I didn,t use it. But I guess it is like anyother type of insurance, except life, you buy it just in case something goes wrong. It all is a gamble I reckon.

John, as expensive as everything is now, I want the 'security blanket'. When we hit the road again, I don't want a high repair bill if something fails. I fix things for a living, so I don't have much faith in relying on mechanical items not breaking. (If my rear turbo, or engine part fails, the whole cab needs to be raised off the frame. Imagine what that would cost.)
I'm glad you made it with no problems.

Ozz, I completely agree with you. Thats the reason I bought one that didn't get used. I use to fix things too, including 53 million$ brand new aircraft. Now if it breaks after 100,000 miles and over 6 years old I bit the bullet as a new one was not the plan when I bought this one. Guess I could get a Good Sam esp to help out now. Might be worth it.

John, these days retirement is tough, I had to go back to work for a few years to pay off my toys.
By the way, thank you for your service to our great country. (From a Navy man to an Air Force man.)
