arizona campgrounds

Happily retired. We are planning to go to the Mesa, Az. area for the month of Jan. 2009. Would like some suggestions on nice campgrounds in the area. We have friends who have a condo in Mesa so we don't want to get far from there.

There are lots of RV parks in the Mesa area. Check out Valley del Oro, Mesa Regal, Mesa Spirit. These are large park home/RV parks. Valley del Oro is relatively new with lots of activities. Might want to check out the Apache Junction area too. Very close and sometimes cheaper. Checkout Meriden RV or Sunrise. We spend Jan-Mar at Superstitution Sunrise and love it.

You might also want to check out The Resort in Mesa. We stay there every year and, depending on what you like, has lots to offer and it's relatively small.
