Water Filter for 3850FL

Does anyone have any suggestions/plans for installing a water filter on the Montana 3850FL?
Thanks in advance.

I just went to like Lowes or Home Depot and got a whole house filter and permanently installed it as show in photo on the outside of the convience center inside the storage compartment. It's right behind the vertical roll of paper towels in the photo.
I still carry around my old whole house filter (blue one on left in photo) that I used to stick in the ground next to the water hydrant ... I occasionally use it to fill the fresh water tank at the lake if the need arises.

Wow, that is one very neat, organized basement!

There is room under the kitchen sink to install the water filter, if you don't need it for the whole coach. Our previous fifth wheel was set up with the water filter just for the kitchen. Now we only use bottled water. Had a bad experience at Edisto Island on the Atlantic Ocean. Even the best water filter couldn't de-salinate their water.

The only time we run into bad tasting water is in Florida and in some parts of the S.W. We just have a portable system that we use when needed.

It is not so much the taste of the water, but keeping the fresh water system clean. My 3850FL is new and I was hoping this would keep some of the gunk out of the lines/water heater by installing some type of filter system.

I run the on-the-go water softener fed by two whole house filters, the first is a high flow wound filter to take out any crap sediment including iron...the second is the Camco Evo, 3.5 gph that takes care of everything but Crypto/Giardia/Cysts. And I use it all except when on the move...then I eliminate the water softener...unless the water is super high in iron. John

We have a filtering system not because of the taste, but because of crud that gums up everything. In Florida we have green crud in the park which will bring water flow to a stop. Would rather catch it at a filter.

We use both the filters and the On the Go softener. Since we spend most of our time in Kansas or Arizona the lime buildup in the lines would be severe without the softener also.

from the water filter store. Two cylinders in line. five micron sediment filter first then a one micron charcoal filter. In Florida the sediment filter last about two months before it is dark brown. The Florida water test pure by taste and smells really bad. That combination does the job.
