Virgil, we have made reservations for a Good Sam Park that I can't remember the name of. They advertise it as between North Pole and Fairbanks. We got a weekly rate of $190.00 and hope to be there tomorrow if our mail comes in. Otherwise, they will not charge us until we get there. Cable TV, FHU, Free WI-FI and golf course. They didn't mention Starbucks though.

Helen,
I think you will be at the Riverview RV Pk. It isn't very far away so when you get there let us know the site number and Miss Jo and I drop by for a visit. We're gonna be here at the River's Edge RV Pk until Tuesday morning then we have to move to the Chena River Marina and RV Pk about 3 miles away from here. We plan to stay there for about a week or so.
Just explored today. Found the Sam's Club and stocked up on popcorn!
V
PS Was back at the Starbucks today. They gave me punch card today...9 and 1 free!!!!!! 6 more to go.

You're right Virgil. Riverview it is and we are in site 60. My Verizon card comes in grrrreat here. Don't even have to use the parks wi-fi. Our mail got in Tok on Saturday and they told Bill today if he had just rapped on the door, they would have given it to us then as they were working out back, but how were we to know. Oh well, it was nice to have a few days off.
We saw a neat sign not too far from the park that said. "Don't give up, even Moses started out as a basket case" Kinda gets you thinkin huh?

Where is everybody? Did you all stop for a break? Virgil and Jo, did you get moved? Are you going to the big doings downtown today? Anybody else in the Fairbanks area?? I'm full of questions today aren't I? Must be that 24 hours of sun that's doing it.

Hi guys, we are in Dawson City, just got back from Diamond Tooth Gertis. The road to here was horrible, the roughest we have been on. Construction for about 21 miles of muddy, gravel disrepair. We plan on staying here for a couple of days, then over the Top of the World. Wish us luck.

Enjoy Dawson City. It's a fun place. If you think you've seen bad roads, Just Wait.
Best advice we can give you is to crawl over the top.

We plan on leaving this morning for Chicken. We will find out how long of a wait for the ferry when we get there. Dawson City's been fun. On to new adventure. I did not get gold fever here.
Crawling over the top of the world seems to be the only advice we have got. We will see today.

We finally made it to Tok RV Park yesterday (6/23), may head to Fairbanks Tuesday, need to get oil change for pickup.
Any suggestions on an RV Park there?
We now have Cingular reception, (316-304-6492). Canada made us leave the motorcycle & trailer in Washington!!!! Broke a few dishes in the rear kitchen.
P.S. We have passed our first year anniversary, started fulltiming on May 16th,05. Love it.

KRVK, we are at Riverview RV Park between North Pole and Fairbanks (only about 3 miles from Fairbanks.) It is a really nice park. We had a moose join us for breakfast yesterday.
Today we met and had lunch with Virgil and Jo. They are at the Chena River Marina and RV Park. That is also a nice park. We are getting together tomorrow for dinner. We are really looking forward to it.
Dave and Brenda, we can hardly wait to hear about your trip Over The Top.

One time and one time only. I will not go over this road again. I will not subject my vehicle and RV to that treatment again. Not for any kind of view. 6 and 1/2 hours to go 106 miles. No Way!
We made it to Chicken, now we have "Been there, done that" Made our way to Tok, staying at Sourdough RV Park. Got our fishing licenses, some new tackle. Heading tomorrow toward Valdez. I have got to go fishing.

Welcome to the club Dave and Brenda. Glad you made it through.
After having a great evening with Virgil and Jo tonight, we are leaving for Denali in the morning. Hope you get the big ones.

Kvrk,
We've stayed now at the River's Edge RV Park and the Chena Marina RV Park and we've visited Helen at their Riverview RV Park. I think the one Helen and Bill chose is probably the best of the three. They'rea ll pretty tight but River's Edge is the tightest spaces. Chena River, where we are has the most unreliable Wifi.

Well, looks like we will miss you. We leave tomorrow (6/26) for Fairbanks, have resv at Chena Marina & RV Park, will try to go over and see if we can find RVFIREFIGHTER in the sourdough rv park.
Oops, missed rvfirefighter, already gone.

Help!! Were any of you able to use the Verizon air card while you were passing through Canada? I have been having trouble with my laptop picking up WiFi signals, so I just tried signing on to the verizon service with the air card and it works perfectly (I am in Prince George BC). I thought the card wasn't supposed to work outside the U.S., and I wonder if I'm running up some big roaming charges. Does anybody know?

Bobgay, don't know for sure, but I'll bet you probably are.
We have Cingular modem card and could not get service (WIFI) While traveling thru Canada, works great here in Tok.

Bob, my Verizon card didn't get any signal in Canada but it is great in Alaska. As far as I know, if you get a signal and are on unlimited there is no charge on Verizon but don't quote me. I know that Cingular is only in the U.S. We found out the hard way when we went south of the border last December.
We are in Denali National Park and Verizon is great.

Kenny,
Jo and I are in Chena Marina RV Park. Am looking forward to shaking your hand. I lucked out and caught a free ride tomorrow up to the Arctic Circle so I'll be late getting back but I look for your Montana on Wednesday and say hello.

Helen,
Know what makes it even better, the ride is in the Volvo HDT here in the park.
Did you all make it to Denali today?

Helen, are you guys staying inside Denali at one of the campgrounds? If so, we're impressed with Bill's driving since we didn't see many sites where we could fit our rig.
Be sure to stop at the big restaurant in Denali, the one that is built like a shack on the east side of the road. Their nachos were awesome as well as their chowder. We had plenty of time to patronize these places since we were stuck there for eleven days. Don't buy diesel in the first town south of Denali!
