Bob and Becky,

Questions from first time Qer. I note a lot of folks asking to be in the circle, what is the difference? Are there requirements to be in the circle? How close are the rigs in the circle to the fire?

Some people like being in the circle for the group experience. Other prefer to be outside the circle for extra freedom (i.e. leaving the dog off-leash). Depending on the location there is usually a limit on the number of rigs that will fit in the circle. If more folks show up than fit then some will have to be outside. As a first timer, definitely plan to be in the circle.

The typical circle has a radius of 150' and accommodates 51 rigs. Sometimes the circle is smaller. sometimes larger depending on the spot and the potential crowd. It is up to the WM and his helpers to figure our how many will be there, find a space, and layout the circle. It is safe to assume a rig in the circle will be around 150' from the fire (built in the center of the circle).

Oh, don’t put that kind of pressure on me!!. I may just leave it to Becky. She’s the one that actually volunteered for this one. Been teasing her that she’s the Wagonmistress.

I don't remember what year is was when we last were at the Q but I do remember that year we had two circles for the Circle. They were staggered one in the inner circle and one in the outer circle all the way around the Circle. What a great time we had especially trying to find out which Montana was ours! LOL
