Onan 5500LP generator starting battery

Onan 5500LP generator starting battery
Does anyone who has an Onan generator installed in their Montana use a separate battery for starting the generator instead of the coach batteries? Will the generator keep this battery charged or should a person install a battery isolator if one can be used between this battery and the coach batteries? If so, how many amps for an isolator would be needed?

My installation involved having a second battery in series connected. They both sit side by side in the front compartment.

That is what I have now, but the batteries have gotten to low on charge once and would not start the generator. That is why I want to install a separate battery just for starting the generator.

I usually start my generator in the storage lot with my jumper cables from the truck. The batteries tend to drop to around 12 volts sitting there and the jump helps them along to start the genny.

That is what I did too, but want to avoid that if possible.
