Shocks

I need to replace the shocks on my 2500HD and I was looking at three brands, Rancho, Bilstein and Fox. When I do research on the shocks its a lot of off road comments that really has nothing to do with towing or daily driving. What I'm looking for is a smooth ride and better handling. I also am installing air bags and possibly a air ride pin box. Any comments on shocks?

Most those off road shocks don't create a good highway ride. I'm a big fan of Bilsteins. Like their life time guarantee. After 70k miles my rear shocks didn't seem to be absorbing too well. Call Geno's garage where I purchased them. (best price I could find at the time) Explained my concerns. They had me buy a new set and sent them to me with a return authorization label. Boxed up the old ones sent them back. In about a week I had the price of the original shocks credited to my account.
I am in no way affiliated with Bilstein or Geno's. Just a satisfied customer.

I have the Bilstein 4600s and a 5100 steering stabilizer on my dually and it made a world of difference in everyday driving. Much better than the junk Ford put on it at the factory. BTW, I changed them at 25k miles to the Bilsteins. Even when loaded, much better ride.
