Durango to Silverton advice needed

twindman Montana Master Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Mesa az Posts: 2,945 M.O.C. #5651	Durango to Silverton advice needed I am thinking of driving this next summer to stay at Silverton. I am okay with driving narrow roads with steep drop offs, but am concerned about hair pin curves. I looked online and found some pictures of the route and a hair pin, and it appears I would have to drive partially in the other lane to make it around the corner. Is this what others have found?
