Galley tank leak
We have a 2008 3485SA. Last trip we returned from a couple hours away from the trailer to find water dripping from under the trailer. Since this site did not have a sewer hookup I attached the blue tote tank and opened the galley tank drain as I knew the black and grey tanks were not full. The blue tank is 22 gallons. When the tank emptied the blue tank was about 3/4 full. The drips stopped. No water inside the trailer.
Anyone have this or something similar happen? If so did the tank have a hole or was it a vent or piping issue?

Just drop the under body material and take a look as it is not hard to do just some screws holding aluminum trim and peel it back and take a look,I have dropped my underbelly MANY times to replace valves etc...

We had a 2001 model and the galley tank leaked on it. It leaked after the tank was full. We discovered it one time when we went to pull out and this large amount of water came from underneath.

Usually a tank leak goes back to a seam or the water feed outlet. As stated, you will have to drop the underbelly and or cut so you can visually see what is happening.

The latest tank failed as I was flushing it out. I made the mistake of filling it 3/4 full and it popped at the top seam. Cost of tank, shipping and installation 695.00

It will be the top seam, which means cut inlet pipe near floor inside rig, cut outlet pipe after valve, remove steel tube holding up one side, wiggle tank out from under steel floor joist on other side, take tank out from under rig, fill with water to reveal extent of split seam (I also had split on bottom), repair seam with plasti-mend, wait day for drying, re-install in reverse order using no hub rubber couplings to reconnect the pipes. Never, ever fill anywhere near full. John

FWIW, my galley tank leak was not the top seam. It was on the bottom, driver's side, back corner. 2 inch crack in the material. Fixed it with a resin I got at local RV dealer and it held until I traded in the unit last year. Easy to get to, but it took forever to get the tank empty and dry so I could use the resin. "Water weld" I tried first didn't work at all. A top leak is tougher to get to, but at least the tank doesn't have to be completely dry. Good luck.

And here I thought I was the only one who had holding tank problems. The folks over on the Montana facebook page seem to have them also.I have had several holding tanks leak but two Montana's and close to 90K miles I might use them more than others.

Keystone doesn't have a replacement tank. There is one out there but one of the measurements is 3/4" different (mechanic didn't say but I'm thinking it's 3/4" bigger than the old tank and won't fit in the same space the old tank lived. Went camping this week and left the galley tank valve open and the sewer hose connected. Seemed to work well until the final dump before leaving the campground. Dumped black, then grey and noticed a small amount of water dripping from the seam with the plastic covering and the aluminum side trim in a couple places.
