OK Folks, it burps even when empty!

The last time I dumped the black tank I got a burp when I did a power flush (fill bowl to top and flush). The gauge reads one light (empty). It is still burping when half full of water. I believe my options are to either use a long rod or shove a hose down the vent stack and see if the bottom of the vent pipe is fouled. I will check the vent cover in the morning to see if I have birds or spider web plug under the cap. Any other suggestions will be appreciated..

I think, based on what you've said, that I'd try the vent pipe next.

Vent blockage most likely, but also could be a dreaded pyramid build-up.

Overlord got it!!, I ran jetting nozzle down vent and hit hard bottom of tank without obstruction so I came down off the roof and dumped a 5 gallon bucket of water into the toilet. most went down but I could see standing water(or whatever) above the turn in the pipe. I went out to my stash of items I had made up when we first hit the road and never got to use and dug out my 4 ft pyramid hose. I attached that to my outside shower hose with a valve on the back end and dragged it into the bathroom. It took about 3 minutes for the jet to cut it up and the water was getting high in the bowl when it suddenly let go and all ran out. I followed that with 2 additional 5 gal buckets of hot soapy water and a 40 minute flush. I think I got it all. Last week after I flushed I got distracted and forgot to close the black tank gate. I saw it open the next morning and closed it but evidently that was enough to get it started... First time for everything...

Glad you got it fixed. Hard to believe it could build up that fast.
