Toilet pedal sticks

Have a 2012 3400 with Thetford toilet. After flushing pedal does not fully close unless you pull pedal up. How do I fix this?

Clean under the seal and lubricate with vegetable oil. Spray the pedal mechanism with dry silicone. This will work for a while. For a sure fix replace with a Dometic toilet. That's in our future at some point.

GET RID OF IT!!!!! I have had 2 fail on me and flooded the Bathroom twice do yourself a favor and go get a Dometic 310 and your worries will be over, I tried lubing the Pedal the ball flap etc..and it never works for long that toilet is just a BAD design and if you fix it will just happen again ,I had a post and pics a little while ago about the lever on the Thetford Aqua Flush and you can see why it is a cheap pedal and breaks or gets stuck easily My buddies Grand Design 5th has the same toilet and his broke as well

Pay a little now for a Dometic 310, or pay a lot with a flooded trailer with thousands of dollars in damage. The Thetford toilet used in these rigs IMO, is junk that is poorly designed. After several repairs to ours, gave up and put in the Dometic, and have had zero problems since.

Thetford used to be a good product, I trashed the OEM one installed in my Monty and purchased the porcelain one, there best so they say I'm on my third water valve and have had two over flows but was caught in time before it hit the rug, thanks to the water alarm I installed on the floor. I don't trust the toilet valve system that the pedal controls. I have found that when your toilet sits for a long period of time in storage calcium builds up inside the valve and causes to stick open causing the water to stay open very slightly filling the bowl and over flow next. I use the coconut oil that Camping world sells for seal lubrication, and silicon dry spray for the foot pedal and linkage.

Just replaced mine last week with the Dometic 310 CW had them on sale, perfect timing. It flooded the bath and kitchen, hopefully no major damage. Thanks to this forum I knew what to do immediately.
