Camper4 I agree completely. Both Kipor and Boliy are inverter generators and per my oscilloscope produce a very clean 60hz sine wave in light and max load conditions.

Using your SurgeGuard with your generator may pose a problem in that genny's have a floating ground. The cure is to wire a 15 amp plug and short ground to neutral and then plug into the genny (at least it works on our Hondas). I only did this to prove the theory. In practice, because the Hondas generate nice sine wave power, I don't use the SurgeGuard; I only wanted to see if it worked if I decided to go with the built-in SurgeGuard.
I never even considered using my Surge Guard with my Honda. Didn't think I had to worry about surges. Is that a problem with some Hondas? I haven't noticed any surges in over eight years.

I found out about this solution recently and have no personal experience but is alleged to be direct competition for Hondas and Yamaha quiet generators with a Clean Sine Wave and literally the same specs just way less the price. For example, 2000w peak, 1600w run rate, about 49 lbs, 54 db. While it also has the ability to be connected to another unit, it is also vertically stackable if that's important:

I have seen other links to this product by other sources so feel free to search for this one. This is from Champion (Chinese made?). The parallel kit is also a separately orderable part.

Here's a link to a spec sheet showing it provides a True Sine Wave:

I have two Hondas and will stick with those.
