Carol and all,
When you have the mind to take a ferry, be sure to check the tide schedules for that area. A low tide can give you a really frightful angle to get on the ferry and you could bottom out.

Next winter, we will be stopping in Florida to work a short time in Disney to keep up my employment status and then going west to TX and maybe AZ. Dee, thanks for the 84 suggestion. That sounds great. - Jim

Carol,

Apparently I10 East is very smooth right now, but friends came back from Kinder to Austin and going West is still awful.

You hit the Red shoes RV park during their Spring Break. When we go from home in Driftwood we take RR150 to Hwy 21 to Bastrop. Then Hwy 21 to 290 in Giddings and then on to Houston where we took 610 around to I10 to Vidor, then taking Hwy 12 from Vidor to Kindor. We hit Houston about noon both coming and going and had no trouble.

If you hit Choushatta on the weekend remember that they have free pastries in the Lodge for their guests. The food in the Terrace Restaurant is good and resonible. They have a shuttle that will pick you up at your RV site and take you to the Casino as well as the golf course. Fausto's is a great place to eat in Kinder.

Dogs have to be on leashes
