Sewer Boom Improvement

Here is a mod that makes the sewer hose storage way more useful. The mod shifts the pivot aft in line with the discharge pipe so the boom will pivot for an aft hookup, adds a slide valve to allow keeping the hose connected during towing, and allows more that 20 feet of hose to be stowed.

see pics at http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...5&l=156b32d867

The pivot was made from a bent gate hinge bolted to the existing support. The tube was extended with an aluminum duct section clamped between sections of the existing tube. The large hose was shortened to about 16 inches so it would fit with the aft pivot. It will scrunch up when the tube is rotated in line with the discharge so that the drain hose can be changed as needed.

Enjoy!

Great job, that actually makes the hose storage boom useful.

This looks like a great improvement. I like the sewer boom idea, but thought it could be improved. I think I will try this on my 2009 3400.

So does this also get the hose to completely drain? Don't want any blue surprises at my next stop

I personally don't see why it would. Draining grey after black would probably be your best bet to keep the hose clean. Personally, I like the Flojet Mascerator setup much better, but that's just my preference.
