touchy remote

My remote seems to be a little touchy as to where it is aimed for best operation signal. Does the door have to be open in order for it to operate the stabilizer jacks?

I have the same rig, same year. I do get some intermittent signal reception that causes the selected operation to stop functioning until I point the little antenna in a slightly different direction. I haven't needed to open a door to continue the operation. Maybe there is a way to boost the signal??? Any RF wizards out there with an idea??

I also have the same rig and year and the remote will do the same as you describe if I am at the back of the rig and also in some areas if the remote is not pointed vertical.

When it really gets bad I found a new battery will cure the issue. As a side note the remote has a small center screw under that label on the back. You will need to remove it for access to the battery.

Thanks Joe. I was wondering how to get that remote open!

The problem is battery life is very short on the remote. I never have the intermittent signal issue with a fresh battery.

Relative to the remote, does anyone know if all of the remotes we have for our individual Montanas operate on the same channel? I have been turning all of the individual slide switches to the off position after opening/closing...no switches for the landing gear/stabilizers. My concern has been that if another Montana owner was to set up "next door," and start using his remote, our "things" would start moving in accordance with directions from his remote? Thoughts?

They do not use the same channel. I don't know how many different channels there are though. Turning off the slides is a good idea anyway. Someone could push the wrong switch inside by accident too.
