Specific Warranty Info Help

I have received extended warranty quotes from the following insures for our Monty, has anyone had dealing or knowledge with any of the following Companies:

Best Rate
Warranty Services Company
RVUSA
Warranty Experts

My dealer is sending me some info on what they sell something called EasyCare insurance some how affiliated with FORD.

Can anyone offer any other company names that they have actually used for extended warranty service insurance.

We are doing this ourselves,,,Try progressive.com also www.explorerrv.com

Thus far they are the lowest two quotes we have had...Good Sam was the highest.

We have our RV Insurance through Explorer. Last year they gave us the best quotes and bang for the buck. I like their disappearing deductible program. Still hunting for warranty coverage. Since I had foot surgery on Wednesday I'm at home doing NOTHING! The warranty quotes vary between $690 to $850 for 7 year coverage. I agree with you that Good Sam is absolutely to costly, I think we can find betters deals.

Thanks,
Bob Kassl

Thanks, I have a quote from this company. On another thread some folks talk about all the "problems" they read about in Trailer Life. I read the same mag and many of them are caused by the owner NOT doing what they are supposed. When the company requires a pre- approval, they should just do it.

we have easy care(Ford)on our new car and they said they threw it(we paid somhow) but no clam so don't know yet. we went with RV protection with an agent in Washington State and also no bad things like I read about(you can always find somone telling the bad story but not the good)think it is the agent and the client that must get along and do what it says in the contract. You know that insurance companys look for ways not to pay so look smart at the contract who ever you chose and follow the small print to the letter

I forgot when I was looking for RV coverage I found several agents that sell the same insurance coverage, so find a good agent that you can work with and he should have good coverage.

Before you consider rvprotection company further I would suggest that you call and have a chat with the owner Scott Stevens.

He can answer any question you may have. I do not feel comfortable buying off the internet without speaking to a rep and asking questions. Like the 7 year coverage starts now even though you have a 1 year warranty on the RV..what are the advantages of having 2 warranties effective at the same time...who pays what. He is a very interesting person. He knows everything thre is to know about rv warranties..I know that because he told me so.

You get quotes from the net, then you talk to a real live person, and then if you are not happy, talk to another rep till you are satisfied. By the way, if you intend to to by extended rv warranty like what we are talking about you make sure you buy it in the last month of your 1 year from Keystone, so that in total you have an 8 year coverage.

;
That is not so with Rvprotection and MAY be not so with the others. That is why you need to talk with them. The warranties run concurrently . The only thing the extensded warranty will pay in the first year are the "extras" like motel rooms, Rent a car, travel insurance, etc.If you buy a 7 year policy you effectivley have 6 years of warranty coverage through them..Talk to these extended warranty people..It is a tangled web...

It seems all these tt insurance companies run the same scam. They want to sell you insurance right now. If something goes wrong with the unit they tell you your factory warranty is still in efect and they will not cover anything . They get your money free to use for a year. When you call them make sure they fully disclose when the policy COVERAGE takes over.

I really don't understand your logic. You can buy these anytime in the first year of original warranty. So why would anyone buy this extended warranty except in the last month of the factory warranty?

rkassl..your logic is correct..However there are Extended warranty companies that will pressure you into buying now and if you wait they will call your 11 month old camper used and charge you more. They say we offer services your factory warranty does not, like pay your motel bills, rent a car. But bottom line is they DO NOT cover warranty repairs during the first year of ownership. They do NOT pay the big bills, they pay the small stuff. If that is worth it to you OK.How about this. One company quotes you full coverage for 485.00 for 7 years(of course they pay nothing in the first year) 69.99 a year..what a deal. Another company quotes you full coverage 1014.00 for 7 years..thats 145.00 per year .coverage starts on the date you purchase the Warranty..Are they nuts..the other guy is WAY cheaper. Don't you think you might want to read the contracts and find out what full coverage means. Call these companies..Do not buy over the internet, ask to see the contract, ask questions.Know what you are buying..

After doing much research on the extended warranties I had found the ones that offer "cheap" prices usually do not cover much of anything. I chose a warranty that stated right up front I did not have to buy it at the time of purchase on the Montana. As long as the Montana was still under the factory warranty I could purchase it at a later date for the same price. I purchased my warranty in March of 2005 and the factory warranty ran out the end of April 2005. The price was the same and the 7 year coverage started on March of 2005, the time of purchase of the warranty-not the coach. I agree with Rich, do some research and buy the warranty that best covers your coach, do not base it on cost of the warranty.

RKassl,
I ended up going with "The Choice" extended warranty company. Have been very happy with their service thus far.
