Anniv Edition holding tank sizes
What size are the tanks on the 10th's?
The one page flyer sent out by Keystone along with brochures shows 55 black and 110 gray. Presumably 55/55/55. It also fails to make any mention of fresh tank size.
The website previously (a week or three ago) showed 43 black, 43/43 gray and 66 fresh, but upon looking just now I see it is now listed as 50 black, 93 gray (is this now 50 gray and 43 galley instead of both being 43's?), and 66 fresh.
This amounts to 3 different tank sizings for the same model year (2009) ALL put out by the manufacturer and it's only May 2008.
What size tanks are really going in these things and why can't Keystone get their act together on the info they're putting out? If anybody should know what they're using it's them, right? It doesn't appear like they do though. Am I the only person thoroughly confused here?

You are not the only one confused about tank size. There is at least 3 different tank sizes I have found also. I sent a email to Keystone asking about the size of tanks, and received a reply from Charles Wade, west coast rep for Keystone/Montana. He stated that we have 3 55 gal. waste tanks. I didn't ask about the fresh water tank, but 66 gal. is most consistent number published.

Correct!
55 Grey
55 Grey
55 Black
Fresh = 64 gallons
You also have 6 or 12 gallons in your hot water heater tank.
And.....add my comment on Keystone not only removing the link to their 10th Anniversary Edition but also being very inconsistant with many details on the new Monty. We have been trying to nail down many of these details since thinking of trading for a new Monty. The dealers are clueless. Calling or e-mailing Keystone has been the best way to get accurate answers. I also think the turn of the model year - 2008 to 2009 has them all confused.
Here is another example. They are still advertising the Venetian decor - which we really like. The mill that supplies the fabric is out of business and they are out of the fabric. Replace by Emerald Isle.
The new Monty is said to come with a rear hitch now. I have yet to find a pic of it on the web or talk to anyone who actually has one. is this real?
Is there a water filter installed on the new units? I can't find anything on this.
My $.02 worth......
Bill

Yes. There really is a hitch, but it is a 1 1/4" receiver. I saw a 3605RL and a 3665RE at Lerch RV's open house 2 weeks ago and both had rear hitches. I also asked about the tank sizes there because their paperwork still showed 38/38/38 and was told the the fresh tank was either 100 or 110. I think that was a flatout mistake, but it just goes to show how poorly Keystone is handling dissemination of correct information even to their dealers.

Our 2007 3400RL has 38/38/38 w/ 62 gal fresh. The reason they went bigger is because Montana changed the GVWR - by increasing axle rating - from 6,000 # (mine) to 7,000 # for 2008, 2009. I am happy with my 76/38/62 config and we fulltime with a stackable Ariston w/d. One advantage to smaller tanks is that you have to empty/flush them more often. I empty ours every 2 days (grey/galley) and every 4-5 days (black) on average. Have never had a problem.
Unless they have fixed the "leaking/cracking" problem with these tanks, I would be skeptical of trying to increase how much weight these things will max out at... That increases the max fluid weight in the 55 gal tanks by 31.6% from the 38 gal ones.

Did I misread that? How is having to empty a smaller tank more often an advantage?

But that's the thing. Did they increase them from 38/38/38/62 to 43/43/43/64 or 50/43/50/64 or 55/55/55/64? Even William who says "Correct!" followed by 55/55/55/64 seems to have doubts in the next breath about the accuracy of info.
They increased the size of their tanks to better compete with higher line rigs with bigger tanks, but in doing so don't seem to be able to tell us what sizes they increased them to. The misinformation, or disinformation, is confusing and disconcerting.

Rob, The advantage is flushing the tanks - not the task of actually pulling the handles. I should have been more clear. There are several MOCers who have had black tank troubles by improper flushing/backwashing/not enough water/etc.
The galley tank, likewise, builds up debris that has to be flushed out on a regular basis. The more often these tanks are flushed (properly) the less likely one is to have some REALLY serious problems.
A smaller tank forces one to flush more often. Some here actually flush/empty their black tank - irregardless of tank size - every day to prevent problems.

Thanks for the clarification. That makes more sense now.
As with many things we all say in life you knew exactly what you meant.

We just purchased a 2009 2980RL 10th Anniversary Edition. The information we have states 66 gal freshwater, 110 gray and 55 gallon black tank capacities. The water heater is 12 gallons.
We'll see?
