Slide Support, to be or not to be.

Randye Here, I found a section in the owners manual that states you should use support jacks under slides if your going to use them for an extended time. I when to our local suppiler and he said some think you should, some don't. Which is it? We are very close to being able to hit the road, Maybe a couple of weeks plus or minus. We are getting pretty excited about now. thanks for any input you might have.
