There should be a sticker on the drivers side door frame on your truck that will tell you what it's capacity is.

A set of airbags and a Pac Brake and you'll be good to go. A good friend of mine pulls a 34' Cameo with his 02 Dirtymax and does great. He is a truck driver however..

Do the numbers...

- Cargo capacity is what is on the Tire and Loading Information sticker on the driver's door jam. It is to the nearest one pound.
- Actual tow capacity...truck's GCWR minus the tow vehicle's actual weight when ready to tow.

In your post, you said you have a CC/SB, Chevy did not make any SB one tons in 2005.

Oops...its a 3/4 ton. forgot to put the 2500 part in.. and yeah I realize now that SRW means the 1 ton.

SRW = single rear wheel. Yes, you can tow it, but you will be way over capacity of truck. Your 2500 has a 9200 GVW probably and my 2007 3500 has a 9900 GVW and is over pulling a 35 1/2 ft Montana, not a 39' trailer. Don't overload your trailer and drive a reasonable speed and you might get by. A lot of people are over capacity on their truck and I haven't heard of anyone having an accident because of it.

You have a great truck to pull a HC with. The HC were developed especially to be pulled with 3/4'ton trucks. You might be a little over weight no big deal.

My second choice is this Jayco Eagle 345BHTS 2016 model

Weights

Unloaded Vehicle Weight (lbs) 10815
Dry Hitch Weight (lbs) 2080
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (lbs) 13250
Cargo Carrying Capacity (lbs) 2435

Thoughts on this? Towing with truck in my sisnature

This thread is a little old, but I thought I'd weigh-in (pun intended). The ONLY difference between the 2500 and 3500 Silverado is the rear spring rating (and the door badges). PERIOD. Chassis, brakes, axles, wheels, and tires, all the same. The main factors determining towing capacity is the rear axle rating and tire load rating. As to it being a "big deal in an at-fault wreck" i'd be interested is seeing the case law.

Ask member 1retired06...he was in an accident, NOT at fault, and still was required by authorities to have his rig weighed.
