Mid winter departure for the south question

Our Montana is all closed up for the winter in the back pasture. We won't be using it until the spring but last week I was driving up to Montreal Quebec and passed quite a few trailers and fifth wheels heading south. I guess we'll be doing it too in a year or two and I was wondering where they stop for the first night or two on the way down? They must be all winterized so they would have no water and I doubt there are any campgrounds open this far north so what do they do? Where do they stay until the climate becomes suitable for humans? At what point can you de-winterize?

Dreaming of sun and sand.....
