Pirit Hose

I broke down and purchased a Pirit hose this year. Just got it in and hooked everything up. Dumb question. The auto switch is on a pigtail that comes out of the end connecting to the Montana. Not a problem. Questions: It is wiretied to the hose with the button against the hose. Should I cut this loose or is it supposed to stay that way? Can't find anything in the docs about it.
