Dometic 320 Question

Just received my new Dometic 320. Hopefully you can see attached pics. The gasket is not centered in the “hole”. When I inspected it and removed/reinstalled the gasket it appears the gasket mount molded into the tank is not directly aligned with the “hole”. Not yet installed, I put a cup of water in and it does not leak out. Can I get someone to compare it to theirs and advise.

The gasket has a grove (for lack of a better name) around its edge. There is a corresponding edge protruding from the toilet. Getting the gasket seated was a challenge for me. But once I got is seated properly, it was centered in the hole.

If your holds water, let it go and see for how long. I bet it will drain a couple of hours. Not what you want.

The tip I was given was to let the ball valve close and then insert the gasket, working it into position. Good luck!

Our 310 has the same thing, gasket not quite centered, and it hasn't been a problem.

I let water sit in it overnight and it held. I pulled the gasket off and can feel that the groove is not centered in the hole. I am going to call Dometic today to see what they say before installing it.

I called Dometic and the young lady I spoke to said that she had heard about this before but if it holds water it is ok. With my OCD it will bother me every time in stand there using it . I am sending it back to Amazon and will buy one locally that I can look at first...

I think the young lady gave you some good advice. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. I haven't looked at mine lately but if i recall, it looks the same as your's and mine doesn't leak. If you didn't have to look at it while aiming it wouldn't bother you but i'm sure the wife appreciates your accuracy.

Being off center like that may affect one's aim.

Ours was like that but corrected itself after a few flushes. Just stand closer and let her rip!
