Buying a 3670RL

Have an opportunity to buy a 2003 3670RL in really good condition.
Any advice? Price? Things to look out for? How do you like your 3670?
Not fulltiming, but plan to travel several months a year. Plan to buy a F250 Lariat Diesel. 350?

We have a 2004 3670RL and wouldn't have any other model. We are a threesome and enjoy the open area offered in the model. I am sure other owners of this model will confirm my statement.

We have a 2004 3670 also. Fantastic unit!! I would look at the F350 the pin weight is pretty high. That said a F250 should get by but not a lot of room for error.

We've had ours for a little more than a year and really enjoy the floorplan. I can't think of anything that is floor plan specific to watch for.

We also have a 2004 3670 and love it. Like Bill and Ann there are three adults (plus a dog) and the open floor plan works great for us. We can all be moving around and not stepping on each other. Also with the open floor plan I don't get that closed in feeling like I do in some floor plans. Just don't like that crowded feeling.

My picture would look just like Bill and Ann's except the F250 is a long box painted dark blue over silver. The open floor plan is what makes it delightful for us. We looked at others, but the 3670 rang our bell.

Just want to chime in and say I love my 3670RL. I previously had a 3295RK, which I liked, and I know a lot of owners who love theirs, but I prefer the open floor plan of the 3670.

We can only repeat what others have said, but there is one other point that we consider important, the 3670 floor plan allows for good access to all parts of the trailer while the slides are in. If you are inclinded towards stopping for meals at rest stops, or doing quick overnights at Flying J's or Wall-Marts etc, this is a very useful feature.

Either the F250 or the F350 will do just fine for you. We're towing 14,360 lbs with an F250 (rated for 15,400 towing with 23,000 gcwr).

It's like I've said before. One can never have too much truck. If you are buying a new TV, you should look at what you need to do the job and then look at what will do the job the easiest. I am not saying buy one over the other. But if you ever consider a bigger trailer, or have it loaded up to the max are you still going to be able to pull, and stop it with a truck that is just enough to get the job done. If I didn't drive my truck almost every day for work. I would have a dually to pull the trailer. The price for larger brakes and better suspension isn't much when you purchace it up front. Try telling that to the dealer when it's 6 months old and you have discovered you need a bigger truck. Spend a little more now rather than a lot more later. Just my $.02

Ron, your point well taken but I'd like to point out the game has changed just a bit. The '05 F250 has higher ratings, larger brakes, stronger frame, bigger springs, than our '03 F350. Otherwise we'd still have an F350. For example, our '05 F250 has GVWR 10,000, tow 15,400, GCWR 23,000. The F350 for 2005 has higher numbers yet, so your point there is a good one. Not meant as a challenge, just wanted to make the clarification that the F250/F350 discussion now has to consider the model year.

No harm done there Steve. I would love to trade to a new '05 or '06 mself. But the Mrs. would have my hide if I drove home in a new truck within a year of buying this one. The '05 on up are a whole differnt animal. I had the pleasure of driving a new one for a weekend while they did a recall on mine and must say it turns a whole lot tighter than the previous years super duty's.
