Corner guards

Does any one here have or know where you can find spongy guards for the corners of the bedroom slide? I just know one of these times I will duck under the 5er and come up under the corner of that bedroom slide and cut my head open. It would surely save my husbands face too.

Running around screaming with a gash in the head wouldn't be too cool in public.

Melissa

Have seen people use tennis balls on the corners OR those floaty toys that are about 4 foot long (cut into pieces that fit each corner). (don't know what those things are called, they are about 3 or 4 inches in diameter and up to 4 foot in length and very popular in any swimming hole or pool) Cut to length, and then cut the length open. Slide into place.

Have also seen those floaty toys on the hitch (take a look that can be sharp and dangerous).

I've been smacked several times----the better half said the impact still had not pounded any sense into the cranial region....! Try Home Depot or Lowe's and look for the split foam rubber pipe insullation. I think the stuff comes in 3 foot lengths. The 1/2 inch pipe size should work well. Cut it long enough to extend 6 inches or so arounf each side of the corner. Use a bit of the 10,001 uses duct tape and secure it to the inside of the slide. Remove it before you travel so it won't blow off or compromise the slide seals. I never thought of that until just now----thanks for YOUR great idea Meliisa-n-Mike

What a good question Melissa. I have often wondered about that myself and find that I keep telling hubby, "DUCK".
And Country Guy - what a good solution, have lots of old tennis balls laying around.
Thanks!

Were using those 4 ft long round floater that you can buy at the dollar store. Just cut one down the middle half way and cut them off around 14inches. They work great.

A friend just cut a slit in a tennis ball and put one on each corner. Sounds like a lot of good ideas in this thread.

Go to a hardware store or lumber yard and get some 1/2 inch foam pipe insulation. It is already split and will slide over the edge. I also used it to put on the bottom of the linen shelf over the toilet on our 2955RL. Didn't stop me from bumping my head but it doesn't smart quite as much.

What a great idea! I've already knocked myself silly a couple of times on the bedroom slide. I'm going to get a swimming noodle in a bright color so next time I hit my head I can see it coming.
