In the 2004 sales brochure our 2980RL is listed as having an OAL of 32ft. On the Montana web site the 2006 2980RL is listed as being 34ft. It seems that nearly all of the model that existed in 2004 and now listed in the 2006 web site are about 2 feet longer. Has there been a lot of watering and fertilizing in the Goshen, IN plant to account for this growth or is there a real answer?

My 3400RL measures 39' 7" from ladder to kingpin. If you look at the 2004 brochure it claims 37' 1". I think that must be the interior measurements, other wise my coach grew 2' 6" during transport. =)

Hi Jim,

We bought our 2006 2980RL last November, and according to the Keystone web site (over the last year) it's had 3 different lengths, 3 different carrying capacities and 3 different pin weights. I'm not sure what the real truth is. I do know when I pull up to the toll booth at B.C. ferries
it cost $ 159.60 for a trip home. It pulls good behind our truck and some day I should go get it weighed. Will be interesting to see what the pin weight is now that we got rid of the monster chairs in the back. You heading south pretty soon or have you already gone south?

Our 2004 3255rl is longer than the brochure's as well:

brochure: 34' 6", or 33' 9" less the pin??????. Anyway, ours is actually (exluding the ladder) 35' 6"

Ours is 2 foot longer (I think it was actually 1 foot 11 inches longer, but after the first 35 foot who bothers counting inches! hmmm???

) than the brochure that was in effect when we purchased.

We measured from the very front of the rig (believe the pin sticks out a bit more, we used that point) and included the ladder, cause we figure we gotta get the ladder in the campsite

. Total, 36 foot 11 inches, we call it 37 foot!

Keystone claims the sheet they call "Specifications" is the most accurate. You'll have to ask your dealer for it. For the 3400, it lists the exterior length as 37' 3", compared to the brochure's listing of 37' 1". However, the spec sheet also has a listing for "Ext Lgh Cap To Bumper" which is 38' 4". As Montana Sky noted, add a bit for the pin and ladder.

Here are the "Ext Lgh Cap To Bumper" for the rigs noted above:

2980: 34'

There is no 3255 any more,

here is the 2955: 33' 9"
and the 3295: 36' 9".

Well the only way to is to take a tape measure to your camper. None of the numbers are right for my 06 3400. We have the Mor-Ryde pin box and we measure 39 feet 1 inch from the very, very front..to the very, very back.

I dropped a plumb line down from the nose cap to the ground, put a spike there; Dropped a plumb line from the ladder and put a spike there. Measured between them. Came up with 36' 2" on the Monty. And used the same method to get OAL.

like richfaa indicated...the only way to get real measurments is to measure it yourself. length and height, and at least you will know if your unit will fit into some campground pads and have room for your truck.

JH Sechelt - We have already left Kelowna and are in Hoodsport, WA. for three nights. Spent the first two nights at Ferndale, WA., and will be heading to Copalis Beach, WA., on Wednesday. Judging from the comments the only accurate measurement is the one you do yourself which I will do. My point about the specs in the brouchure was there seems to be an issue of credibility about the accuracy of the info. It seems that we should expect the info to be accurate as consumers or is that just naive to think that?

The last time I checked, there were four different lengths...interior, and exterior has three: coach (cap to bumper), from the back of the coach to pin and from back of ladder to pin.

Just for the record.It has been that way for a long time in the Rv industry..Our 1997 Terry 29R TT was 32 feet 6 inches long.

Our 2003 3295RK measures 36 feet. Carol's is the following year and it measures nearly a foot longer. I know we both have the old bedroom style, my sisters 3400RL measured a bit over 39 feet if this ole' memory serves me correctly.

Cat320...I think that you are correct. one of me concerns now is how tall is the rig (leveled of course). i had the second air put on and the outer case is as tall as the rear one. when i park it, the rear of the Monty hangs over the pad and i havn't borrowed my neighbor's 16 foot stepladder. i have heard it is 13'3". i am starting to be concerned about overpasses. BTY, where are you in AR? i'm in Hot Springs.

That's a great combination of truck & trailer you have there! Which hitch are you using? I've been using 33' as the length on ours, but haven't actually measured it. Think I'll do it this weekend (in between packing!) I'm also going to re-weight it and the truck.

Bill - I just have an ordinary Reese 16K hitch. Havn't had any turning radius problems yet. Also have the Timbrens that you have. We are currently at Copalis Beach, WA.,watching the huge waves and rain.

did you get the Timbrens for the 2500? I made the mistake of thinking that "if a little bit will do, a little bit more will do better." I got the version for the 3500. It turns out that they are longer, so they're always riding on the axle which makes the empty ride very stiff. I'd like to get the air bags.

Your "Plan B" reminds me of a "Ballard Street" carton my Jerry Van Amerongen. It shows a small travel trailer on blocks next to a lake. There's a small dock with a lawn chair on it, with a couple of fishing poles leaning agains the trailer. It's title is "Plan B". Shari & I figure if the economy ever goes completely "south", we can always full-time it permantly in our Montana.

My dealer told me the front A/C did increase the height about 6"...so your 13'3" should be about right. We are in Ft Smith...last time we were in HOT (in the spring) we were in the market for 5ers, and checked out the Sunnybrooks at Razorback RV.

My coach with both a/c's and all the vents covered with MaxxAir covers comes in at 13'3". The dealership measured this for me while they were up there installing the bedroom a/c.

Bill - Still havn't had a chance to measure as the wind and rain in Copalis Beach is so bad. We are heading inland tomorrow to get out of this stuff. We have the Timbrens for the 2500 and they ride fine. Our name "Plan B" is from that philosophy. As a retired stock broker, if life doesn't work out we can always go to "Plan B".
