Tug test with auto leveling jacks

Hello everyone! We will be taking our first trip soon in our new 2017 3791rd. We are very excited! We did a practice hook up and unhook today. We have the auto leveling jacks and wanted to pull all jacks up but the front and wanted to raise the front a little bit so we can do a tug test. We could not get to that point. How do others do it? What are we doing wrong? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Before I hook up I retract all 4 rear jacks completely and then back under and hook up. Just push the retract button and then push the rear button and this will just raise the rear jacks. Then I retract the front jacks just enough that I get a little ground clearance and then do my pull test. Sometimes one front leg will raise before the other in which case if it is retracted too much I will put a wood block(s) under that leg so that it will still catch and support the camper if it did dis connect and pull free. Hope this helps.

What exactly was the point you could not get to? Retract back four levelers, drop front two an inch or so off the ground and slowly pull forward when you think the hitch is locked.

We are new to the auto leveling. We could not get the rear up and the front an inch or so off the ground. We could not get it to the manual point to allow us to do the pull test. We will try again!

You do not need to hit the manual button to do this. Just power up the key pad and then push the retract button and release it. Then push the rear button and hold till all the support legs are fully retracted. Then after truck is hooked up push and release retract button again and then push the front button until you have some ground clearance.

If you wanted to go manual, hope I remember this correctly, turn on, then hit the up arrow once, you will see manual, hit the enter button and you are in the manual mode. I find I generally use manual rather than auto level when the site is pretty level and only minor tweeking is required.
