Hitch height

I have ordered a new Montana 3611rl and need to buy a new hitch. My tv is a 2015 GMC 3500 srw. I'm looking at a curt 16k or 20k slider. One has a 14-17 inch height adjustment and the other 17.5 - 21.5 inch. Not sure which one would give me the best hieght adjustment for a level combination.

I have the same truck and the Curt Q16 hitch with the R21 slider and my 3160RL sits level. I can't remember which setting they put it at but it was right first pass. I'll try to look later

I'm just guessing here, but because of the higher bed rail height of the newer trucks, I bet you'll end up with the higher one. But you really won't know for sure until you can level the trailer off the truck, measure the pin height, then see where this falls on your hitch. Probably allow for a 3-4" squat.

My bedrails are 57.25" at the hitch location, 58.5" at the rear, unloaded. My hitch height (Curt fixed hitch) is 17", and is all the way to the highest setting (just so I can see it over my tool box). Had to readjust the pin box lower to make it match. BUT, different camper, different truck, different hitch. I'm pulling just a tad high because of the high bedrails on the truck to get a good separation of 6" over the back of the bedrail.

Lots of variables. You can probably make either one work because you also have adjustment in your pin box height.

I checked my rig and it is in the lowest or one above the lowest setting and it rides level.

Alos you have to remember when you add the slider mechanism, that raises the whole unit. Watch this video as it shows the setup I have and mine is mounted like they show which is 17.5" https://youtu.be/jBx4wJSQFa8
