Opening/Closing Slide-outs Manually

I have finally taken the time to find the place from which to operate the slide-outs manually. However, when I use the crank, it turns the motor but the slides don't move. Does anyone know how to properly operate the slide-outs manually?

Rudi,
Dale told me that there is a cap on the end of the motor that comes off and you can use an electric drill to spin the motor shaft to activate the slides. Haven't tried it, myself.

Rudi, you are in the right place, but it will take several hundred revolutions of the motor to move the slides in and out. The electric drill is the way to go.

Thanks guys. I was wondering if maybe I had to turn it many times before I would notice any movement. I didn't want to do any damage, so I checked here before trying anything else. The electric drill is a good idea. Thanks again.

Try going to your hydraulic manifold, turn off (close off) all but one of your slides. Leaving one slide valve open try turning the motor / pump manually or with a cordless drill and you should be able to see some slow movement.

By "manual procedure" for slide extension, I assume you mean extension with hydraulics, just no electrical motor to drive the pump. There is also a procedure which is really "manual"....two or three folks to retract (or extend) the slide by hand...no hydraulics or electrics. Whole different procedure. Your Lippert Slide Owner's Manual has lots of procedures and info, such as how to the use of the drill instead of the electrical motor to operate the hyd pump.

Wealth of maint info in those Owner's Manuals...esp. the Lippert and Dexter manuals. Good reading on a cold winter's eve..
