No I don't think so. What I hear is people who buy an extended warranty buy for peice of mind. Most people who buy them would buy no matter what truck they have and people who don't buy an ESP think it's a waste. To each his own.

Don't care what the brand a high cost repair bill would put us out of the RV business thus the warranty. I believe all the major brands offer a warranty that is a extension of the OEM warranty.

I have never purchased one on my previous vehicles, however on a new diesel I won't own one without extended warranty. Remember that most any repair on a new truck require lifting the body. On my truck if the main belt goes bad you have to lift the body to replace it. At 37K miles my motor in the mirror went bad and they don't make any parts so I had to replace the complete unit at $1,650. Extended warranty covered it.

Bad Moon,
I think you should use the Ford Rep's knowledge of the auto industry across all manufactures, I'm sure you could find a rep from any of the Big 3 that would agree. I have a 2013 Ram 2500 diesel pulling a 2016 3720RL. The newer trucks have more computers and electronics and there will be more to come!

Really watch what these extended warranties do not cover - heard a fuel problem on a FORD was not covered ... ?
