Front Living Floor Plans

Looking at the various floor plans on Montana web site I see the two front living plans listed as "stock only". Does that mean those two floor plans are being discontinued?

That is what it has meant in the past. It is hard to believe Montana is dropping both of the front living room models. Perhaps there is a new FL model waiting to be announced???

Guess they balance limited production line time against best selling floorplans. Our first Montana was a front living room and we really liked it. Shame if no longer an option.

I like the front living room. Actually I like the rear bedroom idea, Marilyn likes a front kitchen

Too many front living rooms out there. Can't imagine they won't bring out some new floor plans.

Hadn't notice that until you pointed it out. Very intriguing that they discontinued both models at the same time!

Just my 2 bits I think they need a redesign,(a little better furniture)although the furniture is better than my 2012, there are ALOT of really nice FL's by SOB's out there that are nicer than Montana ,my guess is it is time for a update, that is one of the few things SOB's had over my New Montana is Recliners's built into the sectional sofa's NICE theatre seating etc... ALSO it is time to go with MCD shades like a lot of SOB's and get rid of the DAY/NIGHT string junk

Went to the RV show in Dallas yesterday. Looks like every brand has a least one front living plan now.

I spoke with a Montana guy at Keystone about a month ago. Sorry, can't remember his actual title. He told me they were combining the best of both FL floorplans to come up with a single, new FL floorplan for 2015. Said he knew they were currently working on two things for the new plan: a full, rectangular tub/shower and an actual mattress in the pullout couches (instead of air mattresses.) these were the two specific things he mentioned, but indicated there would be other improvements made. I told him I was most concerned with keeping a "back" door on the driver side of the coach.

According to Chris Stender from Montana The new model number is 3711FL. (there may be a 3710 as well, i'll explain at the end)I'm told i was the third person to buy one at the Hershey show. They didn't have the actual trailer there just the floor plan that I was able to see on his Ipad. He said they would debut it at the national rally.
For those who liked the back door it's gone. They moved the second door back to the curb side, kept the side isle bathroom and went with the rectangular shower. The interior wood is being changed to pecan. Some of the other features include MCD shades, backup camera, LED lights around the crown moulding at the ceiling, solar prep and heat pads on the holding tanks. We opted for the full body paint, G rated goodyears, 2nd AC and awning slide out covers .
3710FL
If I understood the rep the only difference is the refridigerator with the 3710 coming with a 12 cu ft gas and electric model and the 3711FL with the 17 cu ft residential style stainless steel door fridg.Still think I misunderstood him..
Because of what we considered a great price and trade value we agreed to buy with the condition that if for any reason we didn't like it at delivery we could step away with at total refund.
If someone who knows how to post it on the forum and wants to pm me their email address I can send them the file that shows the new floor plan.

So, what other new things were at the show? Sounds like we'll see a lot new at the rally.

New front living plan from johnnyg;

Six slides. Looks like you can get to the bathroom from the back door with slides in. And the kithen from the front door. But not sure about getting to the fridge from either door.
Does not appear you can get to the bedroom with the slides in.

Johnnyg - did they tell you what the weight numbers would be?

I hope they start showing where the slide rooms end on their new Floorplan layouts.

That is an interesting floorplan, not sure that I like it totally, but as always, a personal choice that some may like. It is interesting that they elected to place the dinette in a slide again. Does this do away with the outside entertainment center or is it in the slide (it does not appear so)? I really like our opposing sofas and dual beds in the 3850 rather than this new front configuration. Definitely do not like the fridge placement since on ours when traveling we have access to the fridge and the dining table without extending slides. I do like that they moved what appears to be the washer/dryer closet back out of the slide, just not sure about the kitchen location. It does appear that they took the door opening fully into consideration with the slide placement. On ours the door can catch on the retracting front slide with disastrous results (we were the guinea pig and told Montana they had a sever design flaw and they must have listened). The main question I have is where is the outside awning located? Dinette slide appears to be in the way of the awning. All things considered, I still prefer our 3850FL floor plan.

If the 3850 was available as we wanted it and priced right that would have been a no brainer for us. After seeing George and Rosetta's we both fell in love with that layout.
As for the 3711, as of yesterday I was told the TV is gone which was a disappointment but not a deal breaker. Chris said it pushed the table too far into the room which I though a bit odd since they now have the table back in a slide! The opposing sofas are both suppose to be sleepers. The L shape also has a recliner on the short side. Sure hope the fridg is accessible with the slides closed or I suspect that alone will put a big check in the don't buy column! Great question on the awning. I'm anxious to hear all the feedback when you get to see it at the rally. They suggested I come out for the debut but have other commitments.

I"m not sure how there process works but was told the new floor plans are presented to all the dealers next week for feedback. Do you think the designs would be altered before full production based on what they say?

Bingo, I'm not sure which door you mean could catch on the slide? Did I misunderstand? We haven't noticed anything.

I love our floorplan and am very sad to see it go. All we wanted was a bigger shower. I'm sure there will be others who will love the new FL floorplan. As Bingo said it's a personal choice. But ours is much more to our tastes and needs.

The main entry door. If you swing it all the way open, the front slide when retracted will catch the door.

I am in agreement with Bingo and napria. We love our floor plan as well. Two things would be a deal breaker for us: either the dining table and chairs in the slide and no access to the refrigerator while the slide are closed. And as stated before it is a matter of preference. We prefer our 3850 over the new design.

Jay Bird I agree with those two things (access to fridge & dining table), and of course that drivers side back door. I think I may be the only one who feels so strongly about it though, lol.

Bingo, I know what you mean now. I've never had a problem with it catching (I guess cause I always retract with the front door only slightly cracked open), but I've hit the front door with the slide when opening everything up!
