Directv

I am starting to get the feeling Directv does not like RVers. Customer service is worst in the industry

Sorry for your problem. I don't have any use for DIRECTV either.

we have never had a problem with directv been with them for 11 years. Never had a issue with customer service. I never offer that we are Rv'ers. Just lucky I guess.

Current Dish ad in our area shows Direct TV with a D+ rating from the BBB. I'm assuming there must be some truth to it. Not a great recommendation.

Hey Dick, if you were a competitor of Directv wouldn't you do that also. Do you make good comments on Zesto?

Sorry for your difficulties, but I've had excellent customer service from DirecTV.

We have also never had a problem with Directv. Carry the receivers with us from the house when we go camping, if resets are needed, they can be done on-line, but have only had to do that one time that I can remember. Like Rich, I have never specifically told them that we are in an RV part of the time, so maybe that is part of the solution?

Maybe we're one of the lucky ones. We've never have had a problem with Directv. But then we don't exactly tell them we're traveling in an rv. We just tell them we're traveling with our dvr receiver, give them our new address so we can get the local channels, which are always switched on before I get off the phone with them. We've been with them for several years. Worst service(regarding cable/sat service)we've experienced; Warner Cable at home.

We've traveled full time for over 12 years and have had DirecTV for 11 of those years with no problems. We signed on with them specifically as RVers and have the East-West waivers so that we can watch the broadcast stations from the east or the west. I hear from a lot of RVers who can't get their antenna set up correctly when they move but I never have had a problem.

I purchased a new RV in 1996, it came with a RCA receiver, manual antenna. It worked fine, cost $5 amount, later Primestar bought them out, cost went up to $15 a month, Directv came in, added St.Louis, MO channels, cost went up to $29 a month, but we could watch Cardinal ball games no matter where we were, I now pay $79 amonth and if I get more than 75 miles from home I loose local Chanel's, and when I get home they go away in a day or two. It looks like I will have to change programming to the RV service or give up on watching network shows. I like to stay in out of the way areas so new digital antenna service doesn't work.

So Rich, exactly how does your conversation go? Reason I have asked is that every time we call, they think they need to set up dish, open new account in new area and that we do need to have West coast feed (already on our account). Please just change the address!

So what are we doing wrong?. Thanks for your help.

Just figured they wouldn't put it on national TV if there wasn't something behind it. What's Zesto?

.
We take two of our receivers with us when we winter in Florida. We call directv and say. "we are now at our winter residence and would like to change to the Orlando local channels" The person will ask what our Florida address is then change the service address to that address and the local channels are there.

If you want the East and West cost feeds that is a the RV program. If you already have the E/W coast feeds why do you call them???

Note we do not mention we are in a RV.

I don't think I understand your problem. As understand it all you would have to do is set up the dish and you would be on the air.The E/w coast feed follow you.

Bob desires the local stations when we stay longer than a couple days. So he wants what is local for the news and weather where we are. Example, when we get to Goshen, he calls and gives my sisters address in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Then we get "local" (near-by) news with weather similar to where we are.

"Then" we have that set-up for most of the month, even when we go south of C-U to Effingham and Carmi, Illinois.

Like Rich has stated, I call Direct and tell them I would like to have my service address (NOT billing address) changed to my new address. When I return home i just reverse the address. For my Florida winter, the service address is the same each year, so far, and they have that address in their system. I am not sure you can do this for just a week or so, but you could try.

I have never changed over for stays shorter than one month. I just use the bat wing for local channels.

We have been with Directv for years and they also know we use a receiver in the RV. Never have had an issue! As a matter of fact after our fire they came and got us set up in the new house and the service man asked how the RV receiver was doing and found we had an old time receiver and he called in and got it ok'd to change ours out in the Monty. The only issue I have is I would like to bundle my AT&T cell phones and our Directv and they won't do it. We would have to cancel both for a year and then set back up with them and to me that is so crazy.
