Great way to start a new life!
Spent the week sorting through the storage shed and outfitting our new Montana to begin full timing. Have a meeting in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday and then go from there directly to New Jersey to pay my sister a long overdue visit. If I follow through as planned we will land smack dab in the middle of the perfect storm that they say is coming up the coast.
Think we'll find a nice campground with a sheltered cove somewhere in western Pennsylvania and kick back for a few days.

Good luck and stay safe. Most of all enjoy your first few weeks of full timing. We love it.

There are wheels on that house of yours for a reason - -
So you can turn tail and run the other way from "perfect" storms!

2X on what Carol and Al have to say! Just remember "better safe than sorry"! IF you think you'll be in any danger and the Monte will also turn around and head West to safety. You can always go back to New Jersey to see you sister when things clear up and it is safe there.

We are sitting in Huntington Beach State Park, on our way to Florida and in the path as well. Just think of it as part of the full time adventure.

We've already found, in a couple of Kansas thunderstorms, more adventure than we needed. On the other hand you pay good money for them to scare you at an amusement park.

We're staying hunkered down on the west side of the thing. Won't start moving east until our weather spotters tell us that the wind has stopped blowing in the east and that we are not heading into a disaster area.

We try not to go lookin for bad weather, unfortunately many times it seems to just find us. Good to hear you are hunkered down, hopefully out of it's path, keep us posted.

Most Campgrounds in Western Pa are closed this time of the year,

I'd think if you could just delay your visit your sister might understand that a few more days is okay, then you could avoid this perfect storm. I live in Earthquake country and I'll never understand why someone that's mobile would HEAD to danger especially with all the warnings I've been hearing about on our local news about the impending danger heading to the East Coast. I can see if you are stuck in a stickhouse you can try and shore up the best you can, but heading to danger like that in an RV is beyond exciting.
Best of luck to you and I hope western Pennsylvania is far enough away from the BIG STORM and it's surrounding damage. In the meantime we'll pray for your sister, her neighborhood and the whole East Coast.
Congrats on the full-timing! I hope after you survive this it will all be downhill (in the nicest way) for the future.

Slight change of plans. We're tied down in central Ohio until the wind and rain stop. Western Pennsylvania was a bit close for comfort.

The bad news is that we are now 40 miles further east in Ohio than we were last night. The good news is that we along with the Monty and truck are nestled inside a pretty large and secure building until the wind subsides. Our comfort level is now alot better.

Well, my sister and her family in New Jersey came through the storm unharmed and with no property damage. Can't say the same for some of my other friends. Our trip east is on temporary hold. We will leave the camp ground space to the responders who have been brought in to assist with the clean up. There is always next year for us.

While the storm was going on I saw that the western Penn area was going through what the rest of the East Coast was experiencing. Being mobile has been helping you out, not just in avoiding the worst of it, but relocating as needed.
It's wonderful to hear that your sis came through, but back in California, there are many parts of the East that were unfortunate.
We hope you don't have to wait a year until you meet, but with all the clean up, I can see how nothing would be available. Good ole' Mother Nature. That was a nasty storm.

We looked at the option of heading out of it. The 60 mph winds didn't die down until somewhere about a couple hundred miles west of Chicago. We looked at heading south and West Virginia was getting dumped on with snow. Luckily we didn't get the high winds in Ohio that they were predicting but even so, we parked inside our friends barn for two days. This storm was over 900 miles wide. It took one big head start to get out of its path. Flooding is the next big issue here. It started raining last Friday afternoon here and isn't suppose to stop until tomorrow night. Then there will be scattered showers for the week after.
