Starting our new life

Well, Dea and I have accepted positions as a workamping couple at the 429 Marina and Resort in Quinlan Texas on Lake Tawakoni. The house hasn't sold yet but we have sold everything else except the pool table and a couple of antiques which will remain until the house does sell. Luckily we do have family and great friends that are going to keep an eye on things and move the remaining items when the place finally sells. We will head out on our big adventure on Wednesday 9/2 and will take 2-3 days to get there. We'll be taking I65 south to Nashville, I40 to Littlerock, I 30 to Greenville, Tx. then Hwy 34 to Quinlan. These will be our first workamping positions and we're pretty nervous but excited as well. We ARE ready for the scaled down simpler lifestyle and already feel 'lighter' since having sold almost all of our belongings (STUFF). JoJo the pooch has been moping around and im sure is very confused at what is taking place but I feel she will adjust to our new home location pretty quickly. If anyone is close to us or passing through please feel free to stop by and say hey! Tim

Good luck on your new adventure. We started full timing three years ago and have not regretted our decision.

Good Luck to you! I am sure you will enjoy your new life style! We started full timing this past June, loving it. We are headed in the opposite direction from Texas, in Tennessee now, up through Kentucky to the MOC Rally in September. We workamp by volunteering at various State Parks in Texas.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Been on the road now for 4 years and loving it. We’re in South Fork, CO and workamping at River bend Resort. Leaving here mid September and going to LA Feria in the Rio Grande Valley for the winter.

Good luck on the new job. Hope you enjoy the lifestyle as much as we do. We've been full timing and work camping for Fish and Wildlife for over 4 years now and love it.

Be careful going thru Memphis. The roads are awful! I-40 into Little Rock has some construction on it, but it gets a little better each time we go thru.

We have everything we need to do this , just can`t get the DW to let go of the grand kids for more than a week, storm brewing. My favorite Quote.
There is a difference to living a life rather than just being alive. Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave site safely in a well preserved body, but to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Cow, What a Ride"

Congrats on going FT. We recently celebrated 2 years and are loving it! We will be finishing our workamping gigs at Crazy Horse in Custer, SD in 2 weeks and will be heading to Haslet, TX to start our Amazon jobs Oct. 1st.
Y'all will be on the other side of DFW from us.....

Good luck and safe travels!

Congrats and good luck and the only thing I can say is "I'm jealous". The DW and I are planning on half timing in about 18 months. That is summer in Wis. with the grands and winter in the south. Really looking forward to this!

I have a question, several of you mentioned workamping at various state parks. Question is how do you get signed up to work / volunteer? I have the app to sign up for national parks.
