I had that installed on my Montana, to replace the one that came from the factory. Primary use would be to hang my Generator box. Even had dealer give it a more sturdy installation. I have never used it once. What do you plan to tow?

For now just bicycle rack, but maybe generator when we retire and hit the road. They don't put the trailer hitch on the 2015 Montana's.
It would have been funny to see me, I was taking stuff out of storage where we had the stuff from our 2010 Montana, carried the bicycle rack around to the back to slide in, and to my surprise there was no receiver there.

Just something to consider ... your end cap sticks past the end of your frame well over a foot. You may have to fab an extension from the looks of the length of the receiver tube depending on what you are sliding in it.

That's the hitch I used. Like Dieselguy said you have to get a longer extension for the receiver. I also cut the cross tube off on each side once I got the hangers up. Also put a 2x2 from the hitch forward too take away the cantilever from the hitch. Made it so all I have to do is unbolt that piece to get to the tank.

John, we bought that hitch and had it installed on our Montana by local machine shop for carrying our two recumbent trikes. The trikes weigh about 35 pounds each and the trike rack weighs about 70 pounds. We must use a 14" extension to get the trike rack back far enough to not bump into the rear cap. We also installed eye hooks on each side-end of the hitch to hook turnbuckles and chain from top of trike rack down to hitch to stop lateral sway. The machine shop owner that installed the hitch said not to carry over 500 pounds on the hitch. If I had it to do over I would have a frame extensions welded onto the bottom of the Montana frame made of tube steel and a cross bar connecting them at the back that would effectively extend the frame length about say 2 feet since we ended up having to have the 14 inch extension anyway, then bolt on the same or similar hitch.

I installed the hitch on my 2015 Montana. I put a couple of wheels on it two since there are a couple of places going into storage, where the back of the Montana has only 1/2 to 1" from hitting the ground.

Just got mine in from Amazon. Got to mount it now. I like the idea of the skid wheels on there also.

Between the bumper and the top of the hitch is about 2 inches. Does this seem about right? Does anyone else have the same set up as mine?

I don't have a bumper on mine. There isn't any adjustment that I know of.

7.3
I like your setup. I would be able to use that for my suzuki 400 but it looks to close to the coach to have my Harley full bagger?? Whats your opinion?
Thanks, Mel
