Lifting 5th Wheel

Hi to all...I would like to lift my 5er to check brakes and bearings etc and I was wondering where the right place to lift. My Al-KO owners manual says never use the axle or any portion of the suspension to lift or support the trailer. Any suggestions???
Thanks and have a great day....Al

Yank, if you just want to lift one wheel at a time, or both wheels on one side, you can use a bottle jack under each axle where the u-bolts hold it to the spring. If you want all 4 in the air at the same time, place a bottle jack under each frame rail as close to the rear spring hangers as you can. Place a metal block between the jack and the frame to protect the frame. If you are lifting all 4, it's best to be unhoohed from TV, and after lifting, you may want to lower the rear stabilizers until they are just snug for a little added safety support,

My Montana owner's manual says to "Position a hydraulic jack on the frame close to the spring hanger."

The first year I stored it for the winter I use the axle to raise the tires off the ground. The second year and after I used the frame as the jack point. Just make sure you center on the frame and use a jackstand as a backup so you do not have jack fail and it falls on you. I use a 3 ton jack stand. Remember to make sure it is stable also. One did kick out on me last year.
