Hinges on the wire hangers...part II
I took the advice of many others and put hinges on all three of the slides that have the black plastic wire hangers. The hinges have held up well but I just noticed that one of the hangers has now split in the middle where it bends in the curve. Has anyone else come up with a better solution than these POS hangers? I actually contacted Keystone, sent them pictures of my hinges and they said they had never heard of these hangers cracking before. Really?

Gorilla Tape? At least it is black and practically indestructible. Just a rambling first thought.

One of the things I found while mounting my hinges is that it was critical the hinge was mounted at the correct height and angle to prevent stress for the hanger. Is it possible that the hinge was mounted at an angle which caused extra stress and eventually a tear of the plastic?
To fix this new problem you might "complete" the cut and install a new hinge (or punch some holes and use heavy duty tiewraps at that part to relieve the stress. I think that would be the easiest fix.
I recall looking under other rigs to see what their slideouts used when I had my problems, but I can't remember what they used (darn, the old guy memory). I'm sure there are plenty of other techniques to do this.
I am always humored when you call a vendor and they play dumb. It reminds me of the story when a customer called the maintenance office to complain they cannot turn on the lights in hotel room and are told, "It must be you, because the lights work fine where I am".
Let us know how things go.

Mine broke off at the slide wall but I just used tie wraps to hold it up there and it works fine. Never thought of it breaking in the middle so it would be nice to find if Keystone was supplied these from a vendor or if Keystone is the only one who has them, and if Keystone would kindly loosen up and supply us with new ones. My dealer didn't think he could get them either and the mechcanic in the garage said to fix them they do the tie wrap thing too. Next trip out I think I will start checking under other manufactors slids and see what they use. Hope I don't get shot or arrested as a peeping tom lol.

They are talking about the flexable hangers which support the wiring underneath the slides! (I believe). I don’t have any pictures to show but they give support whenever the slide is moving in or out for any of the wiring or harnesses.
