Nine months in our Montana

Well we pickup our new Montana 3400RL last August and have gone from Home in Bend Oregon to Greensboro NC. to Ft. Lauderdale, Home Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Quartzite, and now we are in Milton WV.
We previously had a 05 2980 RL which was great but not the right floor plan for full time living. We bought the new trailer for more room and comfort. We are absolutely pleased with the quality and function of the new one. We have had a few small problems like remote battery and Grey tank handle falling off. Other than those things no complaints.
I am running a LA Z BOY sale here and picked up some new recliners and took the originals to Goodwill.
I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy the new home on wheels.

Sounds like you have had some great adventures. Great to hear that you have had very few issues with the new Montana hope it stays that way.

We have a 07 3400 and love the floor plane, very livable. Our original chairs also went to Goodwill, we also have new recliners. Glad you had such a great trouble free trip.

Good to hear you like the Monty and the lifestyle. We're only a couple months into it and love it also. We also have me chairs. Decent chairs or at least no chairs should be an option.

I just noticed I need to fill in a few more states on my map. I'll have to get on that.

Mmmm. Must be that particular floor plan that Keystone builds. Our 7 year old Challenger is just about that very same floor plan. Have also had very few issues that I couldn't take care of myself. Big maintanence items such as brakes, wheel bearings, caulk replacement and suspension upgrade, I've had experienced people do those. She is ready for the road...........except for a wash down.

Can you let us know what recliners you got from Lazyboy? We're looking to replace the ones we have also.

The recliners we got are 010512 Pinnacle's. We got them in Leather. They are 33" wide so they fit perfect. We put them in our 05 as well but in fabric. We got them with swivels and I sleep just fine in mine.

Nice! With all that time and driving I would say this is testament to a good tire story. Finally! You don't mention any mishaps so that's GREAT! What tires do you have?

May your journey continue with good fortune. Thanks for posting some good news.

If you replaced your recliners - did you have any problems getting the old ones out ? Did you have to take them apart ?
Thanks

We did have the 06 3400 and now have the 13 3402 Big Sky.Over the 6 years we had the 06 3400 it was not trouble free..most small. some large. The biggest was 5 leaking holding tanks over 6 years. It did however serve us well over 6 years and @ 60K miles.

We have had the 13 for just over a month and @ 1K miles.Except for those pesky workmanship issues like yesterdy I opened the spice cabinet and the bottom molding fell off. Opened the drawer under the couch and the plastic latch broke.Pantry door latch not installed correctly. Remember this is the top of the line highest $$ Montana.... Good job skilled workman..All the big stuff works fine and this is a all over better unit than the 06 3400.

jrjones - Glad you are enjoying your new Montana 3400. I am just curious about one thing though.....the map in your signature. You have Hawaii colored in and I was just thinking that the 3400 must be really water tight to make the trip over there!

Got To Love Our Montana's!!

We've had our 3400 about the same time and also have had no major problems. Interestingly enough the battery in my remote was also bad and I didn't think that could be the problem since it was so new. Fixed it right up.

The bedroom door is sticking. I think there is a screw loose in the track that can't be tightened up since the hole is to big. Will try fixing that this weekend.

Update! well we have towed the new trailer from Bend OR. to Greensboro NC. to Ft Lauderdale FL. Back to Bend and then to Vegas Quartzite Az then to Milton WV. with no problems other than my Truck 6.0 PS. So on our way home from WV. yesterday this trucker is pointing to the back of my trailer and sure enough I had one of these fine tires go. What a mess. No damage to the trailer that can't be cleaned. But nothing broke. As soon as I get home I am getting these tires replaced. My question is what was the tire that I read about being put on? I thought it was a G16 or something like that. I know it wouldn't take much to be better than what came on the rig.

We have the same 3400RL except a year older and we saw bubbles on two sidewalls within 3 months of having the trailer. We put on Goodyear G614's and have had zero problems, plus they hold air very well. Goodyear warranted the original tires and I just had to pay the difference on all 4 tires.

Thanks for the info earlier on the recliners. We're thinking it over.

Although we never personally had tire problems with our OEM Missions on our 06 3400 we did replace them after About 10K miles. There are far to many tire problems. We would not have purchased a new Montana without the G614 tires which is one reason we went with the 13 big sky. The G6-14 tires were a bargain.

That is only one thing I screwed up, I got every option on the sheet on my 3402rl without the Big sky pkg, I did not get G614's DANG!! now I'm paranoid from all the nightmare stories about the Marathons(THANX GUYS!) now I'm going to get a tire pressure monitor to keep tabs on them
