Camping in Vegas
Hi,
Getting close to vacation and was looking for suggestions on RV parks in Las Vegas. It seems there are three that look ok. I am thinking about the Las Vegas RV resort. Let me know if you have been to any of these and what you think.
Thanks

We've stayed at Sam's Town and Oasis a number of times, and Arizona Charlie's once. Oasis number 1, with Sam's Town not too far behind, and Arizona Charlie's a long way down the list.

The Las Vegas RV "Resort" is anything but. The Oasis while nice is NOISY ... from both the adjacent freeway and the never stop take-offs and landings in and out of McCarron. Sam's is the best all things considered provided you stay in the park attached to the casino. All that wind having been exhausted, I'd stay at the oasis IF you can get a space in the south-east part of the resort.

I've also stayed at the KOA at the Circus Circus. Hated it. Crowded, cramped and nothing but asphalt. I just wanted to point out where NOT to stay. On the other hand if you don't plan to stay in the rig much and want someplace close to the big casinos (walking distance and for the rail system) then you can't get much closer than this one.
We usually stay at the 1000 Trails and that's the worst one. Sardines in a can have more elbow room and the staff is firm, inflexible and not very friendly, but it's free for us. That's the only saving grace. But we must use our TV to drive around with. I don't know if this 1000Trails is open to the public if you are not a member. Some are and some aren't.

Sam's Town is ok, sometimes have trouble getting in with larger trailer. We haven't been to Las Vegas RV Resort for a while but it was fine, just around the corner from Sams. You can go to Sams and take a free bus to the strip or downtown.

We stayed at Las Vegas RV Resort for almost 3 weeks this past spring. Nice park. Streets are a little narrow, but had no problem parking the 3400. Try to get a site more towards the middle of the park as they are doing construction close to the first 2 rows and was a little niosy. Also the middle rows a shielded from the boulder Hwy noise more. They had a nice pool and hot tub, laundry area and only 1 1/2 blocks to Sams Town Casino and several restuarants. Sam's also has a shuttle to strip and fremont street. Are big draw to this park over Sams town and several others was the fact that they have 24 hour maned security gate. Staff was very nice. And all sites are now $29. We will stay there again. Teresa

We stayed at Las Vegas RV resort this spring and thought it was a very nice park. Didn't have a problem with the noise. We would stay there again.

We just stayed at the Las Vegas RV Resort in August and were completely happy. I do agree it was a little tight but not to bad. They are really friendly and resort is neat as a pin. Good security. Didn't use the shuttle. Just drove and parked in the free parking structures behind the strip. Also, really liked the price. Booked online for $29 per night. Will definitely stay there again.

Thank you for all the great input. We leave this afternoon and will get to Vegas next week. Shortly after I am fairly sure I will be filthy rich and will be hiring a driver as we will be jet setting with our Vegas winnings!

We just got home from our 3500 mile vacation. We ended up staying at the Las Vegas RV resort. It was very nice and security was great. Found out they wont even let the pizza guy in unless we call security! The roads and access to sites are tight, but we managed ok and had a wide site. Nice pool and washer/dryer set up. We also looked at Sams and the Corral(?) close by. All three parks are nice and well kept.

Glad some folks enjoy it there but just not our cup of tea. We enjoy the national forest sites much more. Can't stand crowds.
