We'll try to find you if you are in Pahrump around October 12 - we'll be headed that way from the Rally - we are long-timing -6 months in AZ this Winter - first timer at it - looking forward to trying it out - then decide about selling house in Central Oregon - hard to leave Mountains and Lakes outside the front and back door - but want to travel too, so....we'll see what you think after a couple of months - Hope all goes well for you on the road..

Congratulations! It is exciting to watch as other approach the time to start fulltiming and then as they begin their new experience! Be sure to report in and let us know how it is going.
I remember very well the intrepidation as we neared out take off date. How I worried whether we'd like it, whether we'd made the right decision, etc. But just like every other major lifestyle change, you adapt and make it what you want it to be. What works best for you. Our fulltiming has evolved over the past 30 months. Like patodonn, we're still learning, still adapting, still adjusting. It's nice to have the flexibility to do that.
Speaking of patodonn, PJ, I agree with Dennis. Come on up! The weather's great! And the company is great! We're here and waiting for you all to arrive.

Hello Karen & Jerry
You are just a couple of weeks, ahead of us. We will pick up our 1st Montana, 9/28/05. Can not wait to park in the drive way and start to see what fits, and what gets sold! Hubby thinks the whole house will fit. Can you beleive he is taking seven (7) guns with us.
Living in it full time, but not on the road, as my Mother is 95 and blind, and I have to be with her everyday in the nursing home. Looking forward to being on the road someday.
Please keep in touch, as we may have a lot of learning experiences to share with each other.
May God bless you both and keep you safe. DRIVE CAREFULLY.

Reporting In, week one:
Had a great visit with the grandson, and, all systems working well. Opted for 30 amp at the last park (one week stay), since the weather is cooler and didn't need to run both A/C's at the same time. Tested out the splendide 2100 (without the A/C on), worked great, it's pretty quiet. A little time consuming but we've got time now. The Movin View Sat system is working as it should with all the regular stuff, we're still within local Sacramento channels but should lose those tomorrow, will have to figure out how to get the east/west coast feeds.
Met some interesting folks at our last campground. One couple had lived within a mile of us for years at a home near ours in Southern California 23 years ago. They even knew some of the local business owners we were friends with at that time. Small world.
We're at 4500 feet but it was a gradual pull from 265 feet at Red Bluff. No issues and the F350 dually did it's thing. 3 hour pull, 09:30 to 12:30, 110 miles, very scenic and relaxed drive'
Moving east to Nevada tomorrow (or maybe the day after)....

Reporting in- week seven.
What a lifestyle.....
Enjoyable month stay at Terrible's Lakeside Casino RV Park at Pahrump. Would recommend to anyone in that area. Easy points on the slots and coupons for buffet and dinners, even without coupons they're inexpensive. Beautiful lake and grounds, asphalt roads and pads, grass between sites.
Moved south to Laughlin, Nv., Quartzsite, Az, (with the size of the infrastructure wouldn't want to be there when the snowbirds come in around dec/jan, park host says the population swells to 2 Million...!)) and then to Gold Canyon, Az. working our way south toward Mission Tx., heading to the Benson/Tombstone area next to check things out.
Minor problem with a slight drip in the basement area under the shower, have resealed with new caulk and will see how it holds up.
We had heard traffic and wind was a problem on our route of travel. Traffic was fine through Nv, and I95 south, we tried to time the travel through Phoenix around noon and it went well, moderate traffic, no accidents to navigate, and the other drivers and trucks must have recognized a newbie 5th wheeler as they were gracious enough to allow me room and space for slow travel making lane decisions on an unfamiliar road.
WIFI hasn't been as plentiful as I had hoped nor as advertised by various parks. But, were on line now, so, life is good.
PS: I guess I'll have to get rid of the "Northern Calif for now"... since were now " we are where we are when we are"
