Pocket Door Track

Our door between the bedroom and the remainder of the living area appears to have track attachment problems. The door track running in the wall between the television & shower wall appears to need to be adjusted/reattached. How do you get to the track attachments? It appears I need to remove the back panel of the cupboard above the television. Can anyone help me with this problem.

We had a problem with the screws holding the track up loosening back in the wall. Thanks to a suggestion from another member I bought a length of 3/8" rod and welded a 1/4" socket on the end. I then inserted a long screwdriver bit with a screw finder/holder into the socket. the finder is tapered on the inside and will hold a screw centered on the bit and the plastic collar will push back as the screw goes in. My door track now has many screws holding it up

I had this happen in my 3075RL. I went into the cabinet in front of the pocket door and removed the panel in the ceiling of the cabinet. Then I cut a section out of the wall above the panel with a jig saw to gain access to the door rail. After the ceiling panel is replaced you can't see the hole in the wall. A real pain in the *%$#. When I removed the ceiling panel I found mice had been nesting in the ceiling area.

Maybe this will work in your model.

I had mine fixed at the factory. They cut an access hole in the back of the cabinet above the TV and covered it with a piece of paneling when done. Because of the location you can't see where it was done, and I now have easy access if I ever want to get in there again.

We had the same problem on our unit. We cut a hole behind the TV. Also, put in a long piece of 2x4 to hold the end of the track up after rescrewing. Covered the hole with paneling. Looks good and can now get to it again if needed.

Ours must be different, I took a cheap open end wrench and bent the open end at a 90 degree angle and was able to reach in and adjust the door.

You're right, grampachet, we may have jumped the gun here. If the door just needs a little adjustment it hangs by two bolts than can be screwed up or down.

Tracks coming loose from the ceiling is not just a Montana problem. My Alpenlite had 2 pocket doors and both tracks came loose. For it I was able to squeeze my hand and screwdriver into the opening to fix it. Then I bout a set of those old rubber wedge door stops and jammed them in under the door and seemed to be enough to keep it from bouncing and ripping it down again. But on the Montana the gap at the bottom of the door is way to wide for that. I am trying to figure out a way to take the weight off the door cause I know sooner or later we will hit a really good bump and it will come down.

Dave cut a piece of 2X4 at an angle and use it as a wedge in the space below the sliding door. I use it to block the door incase the plastic snap strap comes loose. When I have the Monte in storage I put the wedge under the bathroom door that is open partway over the clothes happer door in the floor. This keeps anyone that might break into the basement from entering into the camper main floor too.

Had the same thing happen to our pocket door. Dealer had to remove one wall of the shower to get in to the ceiling over the pocket door. Noticed some new silicone around the shower wall and glass. I was glad I wasn't there to see that process. After that, and before it might happen again, I located a hard 2x2 about 12 to 16 inches long, cut a bevel on the outer facing, stained it to match the rest of the wood, slid it under the door, and secured it with a recessed long wood screw. Perfect fit. Every two weeks it needs a little bar soap lubricant on the bottom of the door. In damp weather it drags a little. Its the vertical jarring that pulls the door and ceiling track out of the ceiling. By giving it a base to ride on during transit and keeping the door in the pocket we seem to have eliminated the problem.

We haven't had a problem but that explains the hole in the wall at the back of the pantry. They covered it up with picture frame with double faced tape. I wonder if I paid extra for the picture frame???????????

I think anything that helps support the door while travelling would prevent the track from coming loose. I could have could a hole back inside a cabinet but it would have been difficult working in those close quarters. The long screwdriver worked just fine, no extra holes anywhere.

I do like the idea of the 2x2 and having it mounted in there permanently, gonna have to check that out. But then I have had the plastic strap break too so the wedge may be best. If you are ever on I-20 west bound coming into Dallas you will lose your doors lol lol.. I never knew a trailer could bounce so high lol lol
