Does anyone have a better solution to a slow closing ball valve at the bottom of the toilet? I have shut off the water and lubed the ball valve with Vaseline & also tried silicone grease. Neither one last for more than a few days?

Replace with a Dometic 310 or 320 toilet and problem solved for good,I have tried EVERYTHING in the past with the Thetord (if that is what you have)plumbers grease,new seals Blah Blah Blah... CHUCK IT!

Try very hot water in the toilet. let it sit then clean the gasket. use SILICONE grease then more hot water, work the the valve then see if the problem is gone. I did this once a couple of years ago and the problem has not come back as of yet anyway.

Agree. If you have room for an elongated bowl go with the Dometic 320, if space is at a premium go Dometic 310.

Make sure you clean and lubricate the spring assembly in the pedal assembly. Clean the ball seal itself and we let mineral water stand in the bowl with low water for a few hours. The ball assembly should snap back on its own when released. The placement of the seal is critical when replacing. That seal and ball must be super CLEAN as well as the spring assembly. We have not had a problem in 10 years.

I'm in the "clean and lubricate" camp I guess. Plus we always try to leave at least a couple inches of water in the bowel.

Thanks for the responses with good advice. I'm experimenting one more time by spraying WD 40 on the ball after the ball was dried. Sine WD 40 was designed to disperse water it's worth a try. I'll let you know if it works.

Where is the 'spring' pedal assembly? Mine is about 2 1/2 years and 40K miles on it and withing the last year, the valve closes much slower than it used to. I assume something needs lubricating.
So how to get to the pedal spring, etc?

If your problem toilet is the Aqua-Magic Style II, the spring is behind and on the pivot of the pedal, and if you are not intending to replace the toilet, I would recommend you do not remove the pedal, or you will surely be destined for a replacement. I had to replace ours a couple years ago when first the pedal came off late one night, replaced it a couple weeks later, and then less than six months later ended up replacing the toilet with a Dometic 310. We have had zero problems since, and it only took maybe 15 minutes to replace.

You got that right! I made the mistake of trying to fix the pedal on my First Aqua magic in my 2012 when it started to break and 2 weeks later it finally messed up good and flooded my RV at 2:00 in the morning..never again thank God most of the water went down the stairs and into the underbelly even on my newer 2105 the Thetford would not hold water from the get go and I replaced it Chop-chop with a Dometic

Yup, our original one was replaced under warranty when the flush mechanism literally blew apart just after I replaced the first seal. Replacement toilet began to leak water in just a few weeks and replaced the seal on that one too. Finally replaced with a Dometic. If I ever buy a new one part of the deal will be it will be delivered with a Dometic toilet regardless of what Keystone put in.

Now that they are finally putting 14 ply tires on these rigs, maybe the pressure should now be the toilets. It might take a few years, but they might finally break and start putting Dometics in them.

The WD 40 worked great for three days then it returned to the very slow mode. I'll probable replace the toilet but in the mean time I'll keep fiddling with it.
