Marine Battery???
When I parked my Monty for two weeks in a storage facility without electricity, the battery discharged. Testing with a digital multitester indicated between 4 and 5 volts. I recharged the battery and had it tested under load to determine its condition. The technician said it was fully charged and all cells were functioning properly. We were careful to turn off all lights and any other 12 volt equipment. It seems strange that the battery would discharge so quickly unless there is some draw somewhere in the rig. Am I missing something? What should I check? Should I have disconected the battery when the unit sits without external power for a week or more?
I do fairly well mechanically, but this electricity stuff (based on the square root of negative one) is a bit tougher to understand.

Make sure the climate control switch in the freezer is off. It will drain your batteries in about 2 days.

Actually the smoke detector, if like mine, is run by a 9 volt battery and is not wired to the 12V system but the gas detector is run off the 12V battery as is the flashlight charger. As well as the clock in the Microwave.
If it is not hook up to electric, always disconnect the battery when storing the rig for any period of time.

Also, the rechargable flashlight and the CO2 monitor. I recently added a battery cut-off switch to prevent this from happening. You can get one from any RV or marine store. Very easy to install. Just make sure that you switch the ground, right at the battery.

take your ground cable off and lightly touch it to the neg post, if there is a spark you still have a current draw.

All of the above are good things to check. However also check that the breakaway swith has not been pulled to set the brakes on the RV. This has been done before by a passerby.

I installed a "Perko battery switch" and that will turn everything off. Cost $25-$30. I bought my switch at a marine store.
It is easy to mount by your batteries. You can dial in one or two batteries or OFF.
