Check Your Spare Tire Before You Need It

2003 2955RL - Needing to replace one of my tires due to the axle problem being discussed on this forum, I dropped my spare for the first time and found that it would not fit. It wouldn't fit because the 5ver rims are 6-bolt and the spare was 8-bolt - sure glad I didn't find out somewhere other than at home.
Called the dealer - Chief's RV in Pasco, WA - and they will replace it under warranty even though my RV is 13 months old and out of warranty. Keystone came through.
So now I have a new pre-buy checklist item to check the spare thoroughly. If you haven't already, I recommend that you check the bolt pattern on your spare.

Also don't forget to check Air Preasure on both Truck and trailer spare

Thanks for the heads up on that one--never occurred to me to check the spare to see if it would go on. Bad assumption!!
